Convinced of viral issues; how to get ped. to help?

Hi All,

I will spare you my son's history, but after talking with several

people who've worked in the field of autism (not docs or biomeds) and

at least one doc who DOES work in the field of developmental

pediatrics, I'm convinced viral issues are at the root of my son's

periodic regressions. I also believe that viruses were probably the

initial trigger for his autism...much in his history makes him look

like a textbook example of a viral-induced autistic regression.

I am not as confident as some of you that I can administer biomed

treatments to treat his viral issues without a knowledgeable biomed

professional working along side of me. Call me overly cautious or

maybe unwilling to let go of the medical experts (flawed though they

are), but it's important to me not to self-medicate my son in this

area. I have worked with an MD in my area in the past who does a

lot of biomed treatments for autism, but I don't have a huge amount

of interest in working with him again (if I could even get an

appointment in the next 6 monnths). There is a DAN! doctor quite

near to my town whom I am not real comfortable with either. I do,

however, love my son's pediatrician. She is not very knowledgeable

about autism or biomed but certainly seems willing to learn and work

with me. I need to schedule a visit with her soon to go over my

son's titres and would like to talk with her about putting C- on an

anti-viral protocol. Any suggestions for how to approach her? What

would you suggest I give her to read? What tests might I ask her to

run on my son to either convince her that we are talking viral issues

here (are there any such tests?) and also what blood work should she

run to help us measure effectiveness of any anti-viral protocol we do

use?

TIA,

Rose
