Amy,

Actually I do mix them with just enough juice or applesauce to mix them in-

as little as possible- and serve it within 10 seconds of mixing. These are

given between meals. What’s odd is that another batch I got from another

source smells more like dry dog food when mixed (according to my son- and I

can smell what he means). Definitely a different odor than the VS we were

using for the past 2 months! Wonder if one set had something wrong?

Anyway, thanks so much for the link- makes me feel a little better.

Erosion of enamel in bulimia is caused primarily by hydrochloric

acid returning from the stomach.

When the enzymes actually start breaking down the food, it gets that

odor. My kids always took their powders in applesauce or other

things I'd give them immediately after mixing. I know a lot of

people use powder in cold juice and the kids drink it as they get to

it, but for us, that method did seem to break down the juice too

soon, and it did smell pretty well digested to me, in a matter of a

few minutes. (My daughter wouldn't drink it that way either. Both

of us have too much estrogen, therefore, a little too much of a

sense of smell.)

Is it possible for you to mix it in something that would allow you

to give the enzymes in one or two bites of something, prior to the

rest of the food?
