Ok here are my results...wondering if i should be concerned:

TSH 4.161 norms are 0.350-5.500 (two months ago this one was

T-4 11.5 norms are 4.5 - 12.0

T-3 244(h) norms are 85-205 **this one is high

My doc just signed off on it and that was it... I had requested the

antibodies and it wasn't done =( which makes me angry.... but I'm not sure

what all

these results mean? Can anyone help me out here?

Hi ...that much change in such a short time should make you

concerned! Also, if you are prone to autoimmune disease and those are your

results,

your doctor should put 2 and 2 together:-) My endocrinologist likes to keep

my numbers much closer to the low end vs the high end...

My advice would be to get to an endocrinologist...if you tell them about

your history with PA, that should be enough for them to realize that you are

probably losing thyroid function, and then they will order the antibody test.

Good luck!

When I get his thyroid tested, do I need the one with the reverse T3

or just the Free T3? There are three tests.

There's a regular thyroid test

Special thyroid with t3's

Complete thyroid with reverse t3

Which one seems right? I was thinking about the second one but if

its wrong I want to do the right one.

I am so concerned about the amount of weight being gained. Before

he'd eat anything, now hardly anything. We are going to do

Oxypowder over the holiday weekend to see if it helps. But right

now, Thyroid and food intolerances seem to look like our best bet.

I am so scared he is going to explode!

And we don't have a good doc! Altho she does endorse the

oxypowder. I am willing to deal with the mess! Any thoughts

welcomed.

April,

I don't know if this is any help, but I personally have a thyroid

problem (hyperthyroidism, multiple nodules, goiter). My

endocrinologist usually orders the TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone),

Free T3 and Free T4. I used to be active in a thyroid group,

and most of the people there tended to agree that Free T3/Free T4

tests were the most accurate measurement. That said, I have no

experience with endocrine testing in regards to Autism, except for the

initial testing that my son had with his neuro workup.

Good luck.

keep using them

gracia

I am curious..I want to get my thyroid tested this week because I think

I may be hypothyroid. My question is this..I recently started eating

coconut oil and using Hamalayan salt. I started this because I had a

swollen, burning tongue with ridges around the edges and it seems to

have helped a good bit...Should I keep using these or stop them a day

or so before I have the test run?

Thanks,

Glenda

Those things will not interfere with any thyroid tests. Do not use them 2

hours before or an hour after taking your meds.
