Guest guest
Hi, I came here from the gfcf group. I am the mother of 2 special kids and I am expecting in August. My son, will be 4 in June, he has autism. I and both children are sensitive to dairy and soy and have removed those from our diet. I have decided to give the gfcf diet a try to see if he improves, but I do not have access to the substitute items needed locally. I would have to order online and pay for shipping. My other child is disabled so I am a very busy momma. I want to eliminate gluten mostly and casein and soy completely and use enzymes to cover the rest. I am considering using the enzymes because I know I have digestion issues, bust I am pg and concerned about the safety of enzymes in pg. I have sensitivities to dairy and soy and have gas alot and diarhea when I eat more than a bite of corn. My little girl is fed with a g tube and I blend foods for her and am concerned that she doesn't digest well either and want to try enzymes for her. I have a hard time getting enough protein through her tube because she is so sensitive, she only tolerates some plain meats and throws up violently if she has dairy, soy, corn or eggs and flax oil seems to bother her now. We are a family of extremely limited means so I am looking for the most economical solutions for my family's digestion issues. I have looked at the prices of the gfcf food and compared it to our regular food and it is like 5-10 times more. I looked at the enzymes and it looks like that might be easier and cheaper for us. We cannot afford testing to find out what we need to eliminate and I have read that testing is not all that reliable anyway. Mommy to 6-6-02 ASD, dairy and soy sensitivity Katy 11-19-03 multiple congential anomalies including cleft palate caused by a genetic defect yet to be diagnosed, SID, scoliosis, developmental delay, severe oral aversion leading to almost complete g tube feeding, food senstivities to dair, soy, corn, eggs and some oils and Baby to be due 8-6-
