Guest guest
My 5 year old son (50 1lbs) started LDN about 3 weeks ago and is close to the full dose. About 2 weeks ago he developed really bad congestion which lasted until last night. A week ago I started Lauricidin with my son -- 1 scoop 2x a day. He has been sleeping through the night up until last night (up from 2:30 a.m. - 5:30 a.m.) Last night, his congestion turned into a very runny nose. He also has a red bottom and small pimples for the past week -- yeast overgrowth??? On a recent IGG test he showed Grapefruit at 2+. Any suggestions as to natural yeast killers to use with my son other than GSE given the IGG results? I'm not sure how much Biotin to give for yeast -- he currently takes 600 mcg 1x a day. Is OLE for yeast or viral issues? He is currently on Nystatin but doesn't seem to be helping this round of yeast. Would Candex help? Any suggestions regarding products and dosaging would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Martha
Guest guest
Hi Martha, Our almost 3yo son took Nystatin (yellow liquid) for about 3 or 4 months after his first stool test revealed candida overgrowth. In July 05, we stopped the Nystatin and started a supplement called Saccharomyces Boulardii. Both our new (holistic) MD and our DAN! doctor recommended this product. We use Kirkman's Saccharomyces Boulardii and our son takes one capsule daily upon waking. He also follows a very strict anti-candida diet. His latest stool test in early December revealed no yeast! Cheers,
Guest guest
Hi Martha! My son had horrible yeast issues since birth (e.g. thrush). We started him on Nystatin when we first started administering the DAN protocol but the minute we got off of it, it came back. My son's doctor used a homeopathic treatment (Candida Abisus) along with a VERY strict anti-yeast diet to alleviate the yeast issues. It took about 5-6 months before his levels were normal. He is 3 and we continue to administer an antiyeast diet (not as strict) and maintenance doses of glyconutrients to keep it under control. Also, I believe OLE is good both anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. I have never used it on my son but have it used on myself for a sore throat. The product that I used was very potent (d-Lenolate® Capsules). Hope this helps.... marthawerling <marthawerling@...> wrote: My 5 year old son (50 1lbs) started LDN about 3 weeks ago and is close to the full dose. Guest guest
Hi - Thanks for your reply. Tyler is also taking Boulardii (2 capsules 1x a day). He takes it with his probiotics. He still has a red bottom with a rash. I think the Lauricidin triggered the current yeast issue. I've started to give him Candex and will see what happens over the next few days. Thanks again, Martha > > Hi Martha, > Our almost 3yo son took Nystatin (yellow liquid) for about 3 or 4 > months after his first stool test revealed candida overgrowth. Try increasing your yeast protocol, see if that helps. > On a recent IGG test he showed Grapefruit at 2+. This equates to 5000mcg. At one point, I was giving 20mg 3x per day. OLE works as anti-viral and anti-bacterial for my family. > Would Candex help?
