Yes, avoid them as much as you can, you can also try and prevent

getting it by making sure you are healthy. My personal experience is

that when I start to get something I start taking extra vitamin C and

drinking orange juice and I make sure I am eating healthy. The

healthier you are the harder it is for the virus to get to you. With

my 3 kids I really can't get sick so I try and fight the first

symptoms.

Everybody does seem to be sick these days, Take care of yourself!!!

If he can keep the medicine down for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, his stomach will

have emptied. Otherwise, there is not much to do unless some

antiemetic (emetrol) can prevent the vomiting long enough to keep the

meds down.

flu and have been eating ice chips and a little rice ever since to

calm our stomachs down. My question is, what do you do when the kids

can't keep their meds down? He literally lost his Risperdal last

night and I didn't dare give him his Paxil on a sick, empty stomach.

Any words of wisdom? Thanks.

Hi all,

Please help. We are on day 3 of the stomach flu with our son. He

isn't throwing up as much but I'm not sure what to do? As for diet

and drink, we know what we are doing. But why is he still throwing

up. I'm wondering if this just the natural course of this

particular stomach virus or if his undiagnosed underlying issues are

making the sickness worse. The other kids on the block " recovered "

after one day. They are older.

I also stopped our enzymes and don't know if I should have or when

to start again. I would think the enzymes would not be a good idea

with a inflamed stomach.

He is so gassy and won't pass a stool . He is not dehydrated.

Also stopped probiotics. Is this wise? When should I start them

again.

Also wondering if ViraStop by Enyzmedica would help.

Thanks

I recently had the stomach flu. It was a nasty virus here.

The vomiting didn't last that long, but fever and run down

feeling and not able to eat lasted at least 3-4 days.

What helped me, once I could keep things down, was getting

some vitamin C into me (the buffered type will be easier on

an empty stomach). And salty liquids like broth. I tried

probiotics, but that disagreed with me.

I don't know about using Virastop with the flu. Maybe

others have opinions on that.

Speedy recovery to both you and Willaim.Kim

I'm doing better thanks. I hope Beth doesn't have the same thing I did: it was beyond miserable. What helped me through it was Chamomile tea and ginger ale. Just take sips though, one or two every 15 to 20 minutes until you think you can handle more. Also, adding the ginger ale to water helps, since it adds a little flavor to the water. Just don't drink a lot at once even if you're thirsty because it won't stay down. Later, Jello and apple sauce are great, but start with just a very little like with the water.
