Guest guest
From: mreitanoca@... Dear List: " I sit here, day after day, surfing through posts that are not supposed to be in this format. Please, this isn't a social chat room, this is a place to discuss dwarfism issues. It is NOT a social awareness list,..... " I disagree! I believe it is all three! As a grandmother of an achon 3 year old, it HAS to by it's very nature, become a social issue also. People socialize and become very close to others on this list, (what would I do with out Becky Tokars and her wonderful emails (we NEVER discuss dwarfism!). Or Betty sen and her knowledge, availability and unselfishness. How about Fred Short and his " quiet and sophisticated " humor?) It is the commonality of dwarfism which brought us together! But it is the personality which makes us friends! I can always use more friends! We celebrate the accomplishments, achievements and recoveries, we sorrow for the surgeries, the setbacks, the disappointments and deaths. We pray for each other on a personal basis, We plan for conventions and in person meetings and reunions! it " ........is not a 411 lists I don't personally care if people ask for ANYTHING asking does not mean getting!, I merely use my delete button alot :-) I agree with what you say about the " researching " people! I have a feeling they are merely voyeuristic by nature! I would not like my life or others to be dissected for some real or fancied research project. UNLESS, of course, they want to then it becomes none of my business! " Now, if you look down the list of the 18 messages for today, only THREE are topic related. " Yes I agree, (kinda) Neither yours or mine are topical either and Lo here they are!! lolol Abortion, viewed objectively, is as relevant a subject for Little People as for anyone else IMHO! Little People face the same issues as does anyone else, at times magnified due to medical and physical abilities! Historically there have been people and cultures who do not feel the dwarf has a right to live much less pro-create! Adolph Hitler comes to mind as do some Asian cultures! People ALWAYS get off track of any and all subjects! This is a human failing, if one would choose to call it a failing! Personally in my 60 years I have found more enlightenment in wandering aimlessly down the " off the track " subjects than being forced to stick to the subject! We are complex and individual beings and it is shown on this list as well as in real life! You say you come here for advise? As the mother/stepmother of ten grown children, here is some real practical advice: love your child.... I mean really love her... Love her more than she has the capabilities to hold! Take that over flow and deposit it into a " Love Bank " . " Cause I can tell you that when she hits puberty you are going to have to withdraw that extra love, with interest, to get through that time! People subscribe and unsubscribe all the time... I have seen it alot worse in my short 3 years here than now. Dan would have the stats because some actually subscribe and unsubscribe the right way, not through the list! " (Can you tell I'm a teacher ?) " Yes, I can tell you are a teacher! Now that I have has MY say it can be " Enough Already " Just kiddin' :-)
Guest guest
This condition affects all of us. We all have good days, good experiences and bad as well. This is a place where we come to talk with other people who are going through the things that we are. We need to stop placing blame, taking blame, and everything else that's happened in the last day. This is silly! Please, let's not do this to each other. The stresses of everyday are enough. Let's just end it here and get back to the subject at hand (and any other cute baby stories you want to throw in). Something to think about: we have new members every day. How would you feel coming into the middle of this? Here they are, new to this journey, and finding us here blasting each other. Most of us have in-laws that we can bicker with; we don't need to do it here So I've said my share. Sue

PPl get on my butt for saying stuff, yet ppl can go on and on and on and on about how Danny Black makes LP's look dum, well you know what WE DON'T CARE! Only a person can make themselves look dum, no one else. You don't like anyones products DON'T BUY em, and not to be rude but SHUT UP! We heard it a million times already how ppl think hes wrong, enough,,,geez! Bonnie www.Gimpstore.com > Ok, knock it off. Guest guest
Hey Bonnie, Do me a favor, don't speak for me. I do care. If someone in here or anywhere else is doing something to put Little people placed in a negative light, I hope everyone comes down on the people that are responsible. I am very proud of the accomplishment I have made as an indivdual. I made myself and hopefully other little people look like we can be more than a sideshow act or make a spectacales of themselves. I am not about to stop until people are educated enough to relize that there are better ways to make an honest living. We need to protect the next generation of lps just like the one before us. Danny Black is nothing more than a pimp and the people who take his salsa and dwarf tossing gigs are nothing more than Prostitutes. It really bothers me when lps have no self respect and allow themselves to be exploited. As long as this continues the Little People community of today will never and I mean never get the respect that we so rightfully deserve. Sincerely, Jim e > > Ok, knock it off.
