Guest guest
My daughter is on a yeast protocol and yet she still has some verbal stimming. She was on Diflucan for three weeks and now we are on Candex 2 capsules a day. She also takes a strong probotic as well as all the usual supplements. Is the dosage not strong enough to control the yeast or could it be something else causing the verbal stimming? She also has some other things that she does occasionally( gazing or glassy eyed look and head shaking from side to side). Thanks, Bethany
Guest guest
Bethany, Has she been diagnosed or has it been investigated to whether she is having abscence seizures (petit mal seizures) or any other kind of seizures? The gazing or glassy eyed and maybe even the head shaking from side to side may be good enough reason to have this checked out.
Guest guest
, No, she hasn't been diagnosed with seizures.... She doesn't two the shaking of the head and the gazing together. They are two seperate behaviors. With the gazing she can't stop staring and I will call her name and she won't respond and then I'll call her name again and she will snap out of it and look at me and say " yes? " Is that a characteristic of a petit mal seizure?? The shaking of the head from side to side she does on occasion... Her biggest stim is the verbal. She chatters or talks to herself and scripts books, movies ....... Guest guest
My son's verbal stimming got worse and worse the more aggressively I treated yeast. It was due to bacterial overgrowth. A few weeks on uva ursi and pau d'arco and it is practically gone. It was going on loudly for 18 hours a day for almost 2 years and when someone here finally told me it was bacteria, not yeast... I still want to jump through the computer and kiss them. Amy > > My daughter is on a yeast protocol and yet she still has some verbal > stimming. Guest guest
About the seizures: I don't know how common this is. But seizure activity can sometimes be a result of gluten intolerance (if there's a gluten exposure.) Or, I have seizures if I eat zucchini or mangoes for example, and I also have seizures from certain medications and supplements, including large amounts of Nystatin. If she's really fragile, something like that could be causing this. Guest guest
>>Her > biggest stim is the verbal. She chatters or talks to herself and > scripts books, movies ....... For my son, yeast overgrowth would cause this, plus the seizure-like symptoms you mentioned previously. Scripting was eliminated with folic acid and anti-virals, so consider that also. Guest guest
Yes it is a characteristic of a petit mal seizure or absence seizure. It doesn't even have to be long enough of an episode for it to be noticeable. Sometimes a child can have had them for some time but have been missed because they were so brief, a second or two. I do not know if the yeast protocol is having any effect. I'm still quite new to this. The head shaking from side to side could be caused by autism spectrum disorder, a different form of seizure, or a tic. Mine has tics that will change from month to month or every so often. It may be a head movement, shoulder movement, jaw movement, pulling at clothes, or right now he stretches his lips over his teeth and rakes his upper teeth over his lower lip causing rashes. You said: " She chatters or talks to herself and scripts books, movies ....... " AS for this coupled with the head shaking seems the typical description of autism spectrum or maybe aspergers but again, whether the steps you've been taking to reduce yeast has caused this, changed this, or multiplied this, I would not know, I'm new at this. Are these things new? Or are they more dramatic than before?
