Guest guest
When my autistic son was 4 years old we started Enzymes formulated/sold by Dr. Bradstreet. We made it about 3-4 days with enzymes and stopped abruptly when our son had major regression and bizzare behavior. He picked up a glass and threw it at the door shattering the glass. That scared us and we stopped. He is now 6, GF/CF going on 3 years and taking BrainChild Ultrasensitive vitamins and minerals. I've wondered if the brand/type of enzyme we tried back then was not right for our son. We dosed according to the bottle. I did not start with a tiny dose and work up. Maybe that was my error. Anyway, we do know that our son is ultra-sensitive. I've had to keep him on Ultra Sensitive Brainchild vitamins because he reacts to step up formulas. He reacts to even minute amounts of gluten/dairy. We try and keep him as GF/CF as possible. Yet we still have issues on occasion with intermittent diarreah and rash. Can you give me adive on the best brand of Enzymes for the ultra sensitive child. Can I expect the difficult transition regardless of the brand of enzymes. Is there a way to counteract the side effects when they are adjusting to enzymes. Thank so much, Tracey McKoy juditht@...
Guest guest
Hi, I don't know if this will help, but hope so. Our 4 yr old PDDNOS son takes Houston Nutraceutical enzymes, and they are great! In fact we lost all of them on a recent vacation and have had to " start over " again. We have had two weeks of regression - but then this morning he woke up early, was speaking clearly, eating and generally being pretty compliant. After the first 3 weeks, hopefully you will see the Happy Child Effect that a lot of us talk about! Our family uses AFP Peptizyde and Zyme Prime, but not No-Phenol because my son doesn't tolerate it.It just takes a lot of patience to get through those first weeks. But the end result is really great! Hope this helps, please let us know how you are doing if you decide to try them.
