I never used Valtrex, so I can't really comment much. I have read

that it is only good for herpes virus, altho on another message board

there were links posted that it might be good for other viruses.

Valtrex " suppresses " the virus. Virastop " eliminates " the virus.

So far as I know, there are side effects with Valtrex that are not

present with Virastop.

Some kids might not tolerate Virastop.

Virastop does not require rx.

Good luck.

This is the one and only time I have not agreed with Dana...

My son has been on Valtrex for six months now, and pushes out Viruses at least

once a month (he does get sick with a high fever), however,I have not heard that

they only suppress the virus. In a regular dose for people with Herpes it does,

but not with a high dose for ASD kids-it actually pushes out many viruses. We

have viral panels to prove it.

I will post more when I get the info from my DAN doc on exactly how it works

and how it is different from Virastop.

Feel free to disagree with me any time you want!

This sounds to me like his immune system is improving. Are you aware

of any information that Valtrex eliminates viruses? All the info I

have indicates that it suppresses only.

I am aware of several children who were able to eliminate the viruses

with Valtrex, but it still seems to me that it is an improved immune

system, not the Valtrex. I could be wrong tho!

But thanks for writing this. A while back a doctor offered to write

me an rx for Valtrex for my son, and I declined because I wanted to

try naturals first. The naturals are working, and I would not want to

give my son " high " doses of that medication.

This would be very good.

I haven't used Valtrex but have used ViraStop. The ViraStop is

more 'natural' and works with your own body, which is in line with my

personal comfort zone. So I tend to try those things first. Then if

that doesn't work sufficiently, go on to something else. ViraStop

helped clear out some virus in my system I wasn't even aware of was

there. I did a bout of the high dose/short-term ViraStop. Since then,

my migraines have dropped off considerably. I mean, I no longer HAVE

to have my pain medication nightly...I can go a good week or more now

without it. And former known head pain triggers aren't acting as

triggers anymore. Mega-cool!

I've heard good reports and improvement on both Valtrex and ViraStop.

However, I don't know nearly as much about Valtrex and its mode of

action as I do about the ViraStop. It is pretty interesting that quite

a few of the dan doctors are recommending ViraStop even if they were

not keen on using enzymes instead of a GFCF diet.

You could always use both too. You don't have to commit today to only

one of those options.

OK, what is a high dose/short term treatment look like, I'd like to help get rid

of my migraines and I was thinking of trying this with my son who is 4.5 and 35

lbs. I know he has issues for sure but I might too.
