Guest guest
1) Does anyone whose kids aren't yet potty-trained (especially at night) do this...? My 4-yo son has recently been taking off his pants and pull-up at night. We think that he is doing this in order to masturbate because he has been very fascinated with his private parts lately. Once in a while his pull-up will be wet or dirty...but usually not; apparently, my son just feels like being naked on the bottom. Also, it used to be that, when he would become dirty at night, he would take off his pull-up, but then put on a clean one. We have been duct-taping his pajama shirt and pants together to prevent him from taking off his pants (since he does not get up to go to the potty anyway...even though he knows how), and that works somewhat, as long as I use a good amount of tape. Any other suggestions? BTW, my son's current regimen includes the following: GFCF diet (fairly strict, but he does have accidental infractions, and we're not excessively careful about cross-contamination issues, although we do try to avoid some of it); 1 each of AFP-Peptizyde, No-Fenol, and Zyme Prime prior to each meal; DRN Vitamin/Mineral Basic Supplement; 600 mcg of Folinic Acid per day; ~ 7.5 mg of Iron per day; 50 mg of B-6 and 25 mg of P5P per day; 3 gel caps of CLO (from Kirkman Labs) per day; 2 gel caps of ProOmega (from Nordic Naturals) per day. He is also taking ..5 ml of Transdermal Low-Dose Naltrexone per day. He had been taking MB-12 shots, but we are currently taking a 2-week hiatus from that as the progress that we saw was minimal. He is also in an ABA-based school 5 days/week for about 5.5 hours per day (1/2 hour of which is lunch). Just thought that I should give a little background. 2) We are scheduled in August to go on a Carnival cruise with my parents, sister's family, grandmother and a couple of sets of aunts/uncles. I know that they have the " kids camp " on board, which we definitely plan on using at least somewhat for the NT kids. I know that they won't give meds, and that the cruise line *can* accomodate special diets. But, my question is, will they accept/be able to handle my 4-yo autistic son? His behaviors are not bad at all...no tantrums or sensory defensiveness (he is more on the sensory-seeking side), and he does not have aggressive behaviors. He can be somewhat hyperactive and stimmy (although not in really obvious ways in regards to the stimminess), is non-verbal, and needs monitoring during meal/snack times to avoid mouth-stuffing and food-stealing (especially prohibited foods), and needs to be taken to the bathroom at regular intervals/changed when needed. I had tried to put him in a local daycare for 1-2 hours/day this year so that I could work an entire shift; well, ONE TIME, he ran out of the classroom and the director freaked and said that he couldn't go there anymore, EVEN WITH A 1:1. So, I am concerned that he may not be allowed in the Carnival kids camp. Anybody have any experience with Carnival cruise line? Thanks for any information.
