Guest guest
I am using it with my son. I never heard about the warm water part before. I know with baking yeast a little warm water gets it going maybe that's why. I add my sons directly to his drink which has a little juice, I don't think pear juice would be a problem. Hope it helps. It is helping here. Libby S. Boulardii Has anyone here used S. Boulardii? Why does it have to be put in warm water? Can I flavor with pear juice? Thanks so much. www.babyhomepages.net/thegillespiefamily/<http://www.babyhomepages.net/thegilles\ piefamily/>

Guest guest
We were in Germany a year ago and my son (then 3) caught an ugly stomach virus with bad diarreah. The pediatrician there gave us Boulardii powder to fight it and in 3 days he had the firmest, most regular BM since 8 rounds of antibiotics (for ear infections in 8 months) has wrecked his gut flora. The positive effect stayed on for 3 weeks. I would STRONGLY recommend this strain of bacteria. It has done wonders for us, but it is hard to find in the US. As for the warm water part, I have no clue, for us it was a powder we stirred in applesauce. Christiane
Guest guest
I wonder if this would help my son. He has had perhaps 3 or 4 solid poops since he was born. He is 2+. I am still nursing him for naps and bedtime, so I don't know if this is normal or not. > > > In a message dated 24/05/2006 20:33:11 GMT Daylight Time, > christianekwilliams@... writes: > > would STRONGLY recommend this > strain of bacteria. Guest guest
Not sure what you mean when you wonder if it's normal. I nurse my 12 month old. He eats a lot of solid food but no other liquid besides water. He had a solid formed flushable brown poop right after the first time we fed him solids and continues to do so. I take enzymes myself and I have so far kept him GFCFSF though he has eaten just about everything else under the sun. If the stools aren't solid something is up. Its not just b/c he is still breast fed. Re: S. Boulardii I wonder if this would help my son. He has had perhaps 3 or 4 solid poops since he was born. He is 2+. Guest guest
Oh God. That's what I was afraid to hear, but I know it's true. After everything I've done in the last year and a half, I'm beginning to realize I may have only just begun. > > > > > > In a message dated 24/05/2006 20:33:11 GMT Daylight Time, > > christianekwilliams@ writes: > > > > would STRONGLY recommend this > > strain of bacteria. Guest guest
, Dr. N. says to work up to 2 capsules twice a day for kids and adults. I started my kids on 1/2 capsule and my eldest had a huge detox reaction. I ended up starting her on 1/10 capsule (mix 1 capsule in 10cc of water, then give 1 cc) and worked up from there. That said, SB has been the most powerful and positive thing I have done for her. My younger child seemed to have no reaction one way or the other, so after a month, I took her off of it. So, I would say to start slow and see how your child does. Maybe start by just sprinkling a little of their food for a few days. You just want to avoid an overwhelming detox reaction. Good luck,
Guest guest
It depends on who you ask- I started at one capsule per day after meals and gradually worked up to three capsules per day - to make sure there wasn't too strong of a dieoff reaction. > > We just got our S B does anyone know what the recommended starting dose > should be for everyone, esp. kids. > > >
Guest guest
This is the DAN " antifungal parade " protocol: Start with one capsule per day or a fraction of a capsule mixed with a little food or water. If all goes smoothly work up to one capsule three times a day with or w/o food, and stay with that dose for 10-14 days. If all goes well incerase the dose to three capsules three times daily for another 10-14 days. Everything that I have read suggests this is a short term use thing- it even says it on the GI prohealth bottle. Pam Ferro (DAN nurse who used the Specific Carb Diet and has promotes Dr. Natasha's book) suggests 3 weeks on, three weeks off and then three weeks on again. Everyone warns that dieoff can be intense. > > We just got our S B does anyone know what the recommended starting dose > should be for everyone, esp. kids. > > >
Guest guest
Can you continue using the dissolved capsule until the liquid is gone? Did you keep it in the fridge? I've been taking S. Boulardii, but wasn't sure how to give my son a divided dose. > I ended up starting her on 1/10 capsule (mix 1 capsule in 10cc of water, > then give 1 cc) and worked up from there. Guest guest
Lastriddance, I was taking it as well, so I gave her the 1/10 and I took the 9/10. I don't know if it keeps once you dissolve it in water. You can open the capsule and sprinkle a little, but her detox reaction was so intense I felt like I need to control how much was " a little " .
