Guest guest
Her coughing has all but gone since starting it. We go back to the ped Monday and I will discuss it more with him. Her coughing was horrible and they did a chest xray and said she had a place on her left lung..... when they said that it came from all that coughing I didn't double check the new med. It has helped.... shes been so goofy long before starting it though. But nights arent as bad as days..... so I have decided that its been a lot of help and cant see any downfalls. But I am going to go read more on it now. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Guest guest
Sorry that I cant offer much here.. But wanted to ask you about the coughing and how long she has been on the Singulair. My son tried that stuff and it would convert him into a certifiable dingbat (goofy goofy goofy). Also, and after the Dr. precribed it, and on a 1 month follow up.. asked " Now, he hasnt had any bad coughing fits, has he? " with a very concerned tone in her voice. I said " no, but it does make him a clown with no seen benefits to his allergies " . She then looked at me and said " well, just take it as needed " . Whatever.. We took him off of it. Do a net search on it.. here is a med. breakdown of it. http://www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsDrugs/Montelukastcd.html Sorry I couldnt be of more help. It sounds like she has some delays and she must be very frustrated. I imagine the teaching staff must be feeling frustrated as well. This does not sound like a good environment for her. Personally, I feel there is no rush for school. If you are a stay at home Mom, why don't you take the luxury of keeping her home with you one more year. Play outside with her as much as you can. Get sitters to give you a break. Read and talk to her as much as possible. I know it is hard, my oldest son was a handful. Boy did we play outside and blow bubbbles, play in the sand, etc. etc. I really miss that time, even though it was extremely demanding, I think it helped him so much. If at all possible I would let things go around the house etc and give her the attention she is craving. Good Luck! Robyn

I was worried that she was with some frustrated teachers that didn't understand her needs. The aide will be a big help. All kids go through phases and hopefully this one will pass quickly. I do think that lack of verbal communication plays a big part in these kids frustrations. My one son will tell me things from the past that I had no idea about. He remembers perfectly and he can now explain, but before he could not. One teacher even spanked him and then gave him candy to quiet him down before I arrived. I had no idea. Anyway, it sounds like things are looking up. Give that little darling lots of cuddles. Robyn
Guest guest
Yes she has a chromosome duplication which they are blaming everything on...... the only other 2 kids we can find with very close duplications are absolutely of no comparsion (they are on breathing machines cant walk and on feeding machines) We had discussed a behavior therapist for her..... I kinda said no, as I wasn't fully conformable with the idea of someone MAKING her behave..... And that's the idea behind that type of therapy they tell her no no no no no no and time outs over and over again... maybe she needs that. But positive rewards for good stuff speaks volumes. And right before they recommended that, there was on the news about a special therapy (not sure which type of therapist it was) totally mistreating the kids in special ed in Orlando (those from FL will remember that big mean woman forever for what she put those special needs kids thru) I have removed red dye from her diet (as its the only thing that I had removed before and seen a difference) No special diet other than that. Thanks *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Guest guest
Why does your DAN doctor say she doesn't speak but a few words? Have they diagnosed her with anything? My granddaughter is autistic and some of your daughter's bad hehaviors sound like my granddaughters. Have you had any evaluations? In she in special ed? Have you tried the gfcf diet? Take preservatives, food dyes out of her diet. Without any infractions for at least a few months. Has the school talked about a behavorial plan or a behavorist? You need to get some kind of diagnosis. Her bad behaviors besides coming from dietary and supplementation needs could be coming from her inability to communicate. I wish you the best of luck cbfllady@... wrote: After yet another hour phone call from my dd school, I need some serious help on what to do. Yet she is a sweetheart that will turn and smile and melt anyones heart afterwards. Constipation since 6months of age. Coughing coughing coughing(which has lessened lately)! Hitting, Not listening unless you raise ur voice. The list seems to grow everyday I just started her back up on some suppliments, DMG in the morning 125mg of the Country Life. Transfer Factor Kids in the morning 1 tablet, 2 doses of Pulmicort from her nebulizer (am and pm times, which we are going to do away with slowing starting Monday) Singulair 4mg at Bedtime. And epstom salt bath just about nightly, about 1 cup. I do have Liqu Mins Cal/mag/zinc that I have been giving to her 1 tablespoon daily usually in the afternoons. Shes about to be kicked off the bus due to taking off and throwing her shoes and socks immediately when seated and will not keep them on, and not keeping on her seatbelt. And in class shes spending most of her time sorta away from the others (keeps interrupting them) and having to sit next to the teacher (yet the teacher is making her pay attention as much as possible and stay in the group setting) Shes even backed up on knowing her colors and such. No matter what we try she just dont care. YEsterday she took her shoes off so they said u have to sit in the classroom and not have outside play which she lovesss they walked everyone outside to play and told her they were sorry she couldn't play but she didn't have her shoes on... She didn't care. She enjoyed just sitting in the chair in the classroom while the teacher cleaned up etc. Same thing at home, if she does something she is not allowed to, I put her in time out and she just sits there waiting to do it again. What am I giving that's wrong or what am I not giving I should? I have taken certain foods away that I have read here causing others problems, yet it makes NO difference. I have been reading a lot of the kids have yeast problems, but I am unsure if that's something with her or not so I havent treated her (I did buy both the GSE by Nutribiotic which it says serving size 10 drops contain 100mg. Says children mix 1-3 drops in juice 1-2 daily. I cant get her to drink out of anything except those like caprisuns (grape flavor) So no clue how to get that in her. And I also go Candex by Pure Essence Labs which says take on an empty stomach 1 hour prior to eating or 2 hours after eating.... she snacks often more than fully eats anyways so I havent a clue how to do that either. Also read that u use probotics with yeast treatments..... No clue on that either. If anyone has any ideas please pass them on as she is such a happy kid, but she just isnt " right " and hasnt been for a couple months. She is missing out on a lot of learning and fun stuff, and at this age she should be a sponge taking it all in. They dont even know where to place her next year for school, because everyone knows she needs an adult aide sitting with her to keep her " in line " yet they do not have enough qualified aides for kids like her (not so big and strong that 1 teacher cant control them) So I am stressing out on her suffering (yes I say suffering because she cant be truly happy inside when things are so limited and shes seeking so much attention, yes negative attention seems to be something shes craving) I am a stay at home mom and love the second she gets off the bus and we play ALOT as she will not go play alone not for a second. So shes getting maybe too much mommy time, but when I try to get her to go have a tea party with her dolls (yes I have done it alone telling her this is fun just for me and the dolls that she should try it) NOTHING IS WORKINGGGGGG Oh and since she does not have autism, the DAN doctors says they probably cant help to save my money. UGH HELP HELP HELPPPPPPPP Every doctor I have taken her to say, they dont know truly what will help. ThANK YOU! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Guest guest
Hi ! How have u been? Things are just about the same here, been really sick myself. MRI scheduled for next Tuesday ugh hate those things lol I will talk to the school again about how they approach behavior therapy there. Maybe its totally necessary as long as I make sure to have drop in visits during those times to peek in heheh. The chiro I haven returned to, was getting wayyyyyyy too expensive. He keep adding expensive suppliments to her. I just couldn't do the $1oo visit plus the $50 suppliments each time. Plus I was saving up for more testing. We did get that urine testing back for metals, showed just high in aluminum. I posted about it back then, maybe I can find the post and refresh the numbers in my head then. I did hear back from the principal here where I want her to go, and she said they will have a full meeting on it in March. And push to make sure she gets an aide. Well I sure hope so, otherwise I gotta figure something out! I am still at a " what do I do now " approach to her suppliments. She was sent to another classroom again today for the shoes off and not listening thing. UGHHHH Talk to ya soon! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Guest guest
Hi Lena! I do remember that story you are talking about. Stories like that have really helped my decide not to put my son in the public schools. Not the only reason of course but a small one. Behavioral therapy can actually be a very positive thing. Loovas pioneered applied behavioral analysis a long time ago. Good changes have been made and it can be a very good thing. We did this with my son for about a year and he made a lot of progress. Have you ever looked into this? The idea is to teach things to children by breaking them down into baby steps and repeating each step over and over again. It is based in positive reinforcement, lots of praise and hand clapping! Negative reinforcement is a rare thing and is only used in extreme situations. A woman I knew in Vegas had to use negative reinforcement once with her daughter who loved to go to the park but would go to one particular place and strip naked. Obviously that had to stop so they went to the thrift store and got a couple changes of clothes. Next time they went to the park she was dressed in those clothes and as soon as she stripped they immediately took her home. No getting the clothes nothing. Straight to the car so she could understand that was the direct result of stripping. They did this twice and it never happened again. Not fun but very effective without hurting the child. Anyway, I so digress. We used ABA to teach our son all kinds of things from how to play with toys to putting together puzzles...all kinds of things. It can get tedious and sometimes hard if the child isn't cooperative but if your daughter is really engaging like that with you she might really enjoy it. My son loved it because he is a sucker for praise. Other things our therapist would do was some sensory training. When he would get a little touchy with things she would break out the shaving cream and go to town on the hardwood floor. It would be everywhere and would be headed for the bath afterwards but it worked and he had tremendous fun. Some programs can be very strict and demanding but you can really tailor it to fit what your daughter needs. Starting fun and ending fun would be my suggestion. I am not comfortable with someone in a different setting like at school with no supervision making my child do something but programs like this are often done at home where you are around to keep an eye on things. Were you also doing some chelation? And what about the testing the chiro did? Was he ever a help to you? I did find out more about that chloine? supplement he has been after me to get on. It is actually a really good fat that the brain really needs. You can get it from different sources, I haven't got it from him to compare to anything yet. Have you ever done a hair test on her to see about metal issues? I think it is so wonderful that you are trying to do so much for her. It would be so easy to just blame everything on the chromosome duplication and not do anything. With the other two kids in such bad shape that is amazing how well your daughter is doing! That is a blessing. I really hope you can figure out what will be best for her. I certainly know how difficult those decisions are. cbfllady@... wrote: Yes she has a chromosome duplication which they are blaming everything on...... the only other 2 kids we can find with very close duplications are absolutely of no comparsion (they are on breathing machines cant walk and on feeding machines) We had discussed a behavior therapist for her..... Guest guest
Dana, thank you so much for the input. I have read thru ur page on yeast..... Maybe I am just so wore out from everything or my blonde hair is showing again lol Would u mind horribly telling me exactly how to start getting rid of this yeast? Like I said I already bought the Candex and the GSE (or would u recommend something else?.... but does the GSE get elimated as an option since her Singuliar says no grapefruit? Does she need to take anything else along with the yeast " eliminator " ? Shes not quite 5yo and weighs 37lbs. Thank you again *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

My daughter couldn't tolerate shoes or socks on in the car since infancy. She still can get exactly like this. She also has car seat/seat belt issues when she has yeast. She feels trapped and claustrophobic from the belt, or gets obsessed with the way in which it's touching her, etc. Her sensory issues in this regard were totally related to a lot of yeast overgrowth. She takes anti-fungals and is usually fine with it now. Amy
Guest guest
I am going to start her on Candex today (how much do I start with and build up to? and for how long?) You said to use a probotic with it, I have a 1/2 bottle of BIOGUARD left from her treatment this past summer. Would that be good to use? Or is there something better to help with the Candex? Thank you so much Dana! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

It would probably be best not to use GSE if it is contra-indicated by her medication. Candex is good, give it on an empty stomach. You can also consider oil of oregano, uva ursi, caprylic acid, lots of other yeast fighters. For my son, nothing works as well as GSE, but for most kids, there are other yeast fighters that will work. >>Does she need to take anything > else along with the yeast " eliminator " ? Candex, Candidase, or No-Fenol enzyme along with the yeast killer will allow the killer to work more effectively. You can also give probiotics.
