Guest guest
nope. i have autism running rampant in mine family, cool visual, people have the funniest phrases. we've nine diagnosed so far, most of them the kids and abouts three more mentally retarded and emotionally disturbed that is sure as day autism, it just wasn't diagnosed as that back then so at ripe old age a correct diagnoses has been achieved. i've a great uncle as well whose diagnosis is MR, and had he been born 60 years later he' de be autistic, but whose going to bother changing his diagnosis now, at this time, what point would it make? anyhow, three of our last kids aren't vaccinated at all, actually organic whole food eating vegans, you know just in case vaccines have something to do with it. alas no, just like the rest they are as autistic as the rest. why we're here? well not for the healthy vibrant never hardly get sick autistics but for the rest of us who have other issues that some biomedical intervention, diet changes and other remedies do help with. anti virals and biomeds have helped us with other issues, regulate moods, make sensory issues more tolerable, helped with gastro issues, helped with autoimmune or just plain strengthened the immune system, helped with some anxieties but alas never made a dent in our autism. now the younger ones after we've gone completely holistic and alternative, age two and a half, three and four, are completely non verbal, no eye contact, in their own worlds, never been vaxed, not so much as tylenol ever entered their bodies, healthy, hardly ever get sick, diagnosed as severe to moderate autism, classic kanners is refferede to describe them quite often. main difference with the rest of us we're the ones often being rushed to hospital for seizures, gastro issues, asthma, poor motor difficulties, tourrette's all kinds of issues and they are very healthy autistics, healthy maybe more calmer, but still as autistic as the rest of us. not one has speech or language unless barking is a language, not that they ever won't speak, i never said a word until age nine so it's not a big deal. no one in our family ever spoke before age five anyhow. we've had autism go back to way back when great grandfathers were called odd, and unmarried strange aunts and uncles were 'schizophrenic' or 'nervous' since birth, mentally disturbed and so on, a new pregnancy will cause worries because a new birth would raise the question " would the curse take this child?' because you just never knew if a child would suffer the family curse. i had an uncle who had to travel to another town because he couldn't get anyone to marry him, because they would worry about our family curse and nervous silent children there's something to that as that would be my cousin Wanda who died at the ripe young age of 15, autism with cerebral palsy, same family another sister passed on at age 27, adhd, ocd, angry, moody, terribly shy Betsy. seizures are a bitch to navigate through. any hows we visit here in hopes we can find something for other ailments we don't bother to stop autism because in our family it would entail a complete halt in reproduction. sorry i couldn't be more positive. the best we ever did was make peace with autism. it's just part of our lives, and we wouldn't know anything else. we've never had 'normal' so that would be strange and foreign to us. crabtail In a message dated 9/30/2006 9:42:07 P.M. My kids were not vaccinated. They all had mild autism at birth (and we did a home birth, so they did not receive any vaccinations at birth). Other people in my family, from my grandfather to my mother to my brother, as well as people in my husbands family, all have mild autism and some have been diagnosed with mild autism. Not all of them have been diagnosed, but I can tell they have it. I am having serious doubts as to whether our problem is curable or if it might be something genetic which cannot be cured. --
Guest guest
, my sisters son was diagnosed with autism at two and my daughter was diagnosed at 3. I rarely talk to my sister but have encouraged her to look into biomedical treatment. My daughter has made huge gains with addressing leaky gut, yeat, viruses and heavy metals. I hope some day we will have a complete recovery. Alzheimers, bi-polar, chronic fatigue and chemical sensitivities all run in my family. I know we have the genetic component but I believe you can treat the body and dramatically improve ones life. Many days my daughter does not even look like she was ever diagnosed with PDD-NOS. The slow and painful work is slowly paying off here. My son has a genetic dx, classic Kanner's autism [from birth], severe, low functioning. He is recovered now. He was a vaccine-injured kid. > My kids were not vaccinated. There are other causes [antimony, lead, viruses, etc], but it might be more difficult to find out which is the cause for your child. > have been diagnosed, but I can tell they have it. Everyone [even DAN doctors] told me my son was one of the " non-curable " ones. I decided to not believe them, and he is now recovered. I guess it is your decision, whether to try biomedical or not. Enzymes can be helpful, even if some of your child's issues are genetic. So there can be *improvement*, even if there are certain genetic components [fragile X, Down Syndrome, etc]. Good luck. Guest guest
It may not be " curable " but the symptoms can be greatly alleviated. Honestly, I think the majority of autism cases that are termed hereditary are not. It is easy to assume if a child had issues from birth that he was " born with it " but what if there was an environmental assult prior to birth? My mom was given medication shortly before I was born that has mercury in it. Her health went downhill ever since I have always had issues (was termed retarded in 1st grade). Now I know it is aspergers. My older sibling have no issues. I believed the mercury in her body was physically passed on to me and in turn passed on to my kids (after I added to the mix). I believe I and my kids will always have issues but the symptoms of autism are greatly reduced through supplements, enzymes and an additive-free diet. The issues go from being obvious to a mild irritation that can be ignored for the most part. As for proven genetic autism cases, I have known kids with Fragile X that have responded to diet just like any other autistic kids. > > I really need to know the answer to this question: Is there anybody > > who has autism that seems to run in their family, who has been able to > > recover by taking antivirals or other biomedical treatments? > > > > My kids were not vaccinated. Guest guest
Sorry it's been so long since I posted... things have been a little nuts. We took (4, ASD) to the emergency room last night for severe wheezing and trouble breathing. They gave him a breathing treatment and some medicine and sent him home. We did a follow up with the pediatrician today. She thinks that was he has isn't asthma, but something that presents as similar, is based on an viral infection, and can be outgrown over time. She really wants him to get a flu shot this year, and is willing to reserve one of the very few thimerisol free vaccines for him. I really thought I had more time to make a final decision regarding more vaccines for him (he was fully vaccinated before his diagnosis, but does't have anthing due until he's 5 now.. we put off the 4 year old booster since they're optional until 5) Does anyone have any experience with this viral-triggered wheezing? Any advice you can give me? Also, any good resources for vaccine info in maryland would be greatly appreciated! I'm so conflicted since is doing so well. His language has really exploded, he is starting imagintive play, he's interacting and starting to show empathy for his peers. I REALLY don't want to risk a regression! But, I don't want to risk his health in other aspects either! Thanks!
Guest guest
, We have a 4.5 yr old grandson who has had no vaccines. He is the healthiest of the 5 grandchildren [2different families]. His older brother was a lead/mercury child and very much on sprectrum at age 2. This brother is almost 7 now and recovered. Their mom had watched as her younger sister went down the tubes. The final blow for her sister was booster at age 6[only dt and polio in her day]. She also had had her first mmr within a year or so of the booster. I don't perceive that vaccines protect anybody from anything and would never feel comfortable authorizing one again. imo, giving that booster or flu shot is the riskiest thing you could do. > > Sorry it's been so long since I posted... things have been a little nuts. Guest guest
, Read here _http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=47_ (http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=47) It is such an awesome resource for vaccine info. You will hear it said many times on that forum, " You can't take it back, " so research as much as possible, until you are truly comfortable in your decision. Find your state here http://home.san.rr.com/via/STATES/allstates.htm For my son, trying to eliminate viruses in his brain was MUCH more difficult, frustrating, and time consuming than eliminating metals. If he is having this sort of difficulty with viruses [wheezing etc], why inject him with some? To boost the immune system, I used vitamin C, colostrum, and astralagus root. To eliminate viruses, I used vitamin C [has both effects], Virastop enzyme, and olive leaf extract. Now, if my kids get a cold, which isn't often, it lasts for maybe 4 hours. Guest guest
My ex husband is aspergers and severe ADD, I am seriously mercury poisoned on the spectrum, and my son is severely autistic. My daughter is recovered from PDD-NOS with almost no autistic features at this point, unless she eats a lot of sugar or dairy, or otherwise has biomedical issues that need to be addressed. She still sings to herself a lot at home, and talks a lot about her schedule: what day of the week various holidays will be on next year and the year after, whether someone's birthday is the actual day of their party or another day that week, etc. - but she's functionally about as social, verbal and imaginative as a person can get at 5 1/2. She recovered using the diet and enzymes. As for me, no one actually believes I'm ASD, but I have a really horrible life story to prove it. But currently, using enzymes and off gluten, I think I'd probably be considered indistinguishable as well. And it runs throughout my family of origin also, on both sides, although no one is as severe as my fully vaccinated son, where they're unable to work or communicate in some capacity.
