Guest guest
I believe it is the older bathtubs that are more at risk, I live in an old house with the original bathtub, and apparently it was coated in Leaded porcelain, and by the time we got here it was covered in pitted kind of chipped Leaded porcelain. My Landlord turned white when I told him about Sam, and what I found, he had no idea, and after doing some research found out Leaded porcelain in bathtubs was used as recently as 12 years ago. But it seems like it is still everywhere per Halehs experience. I also wanted to share that I found it in the very corners of my window sills, for what that is worth. Maybe check, for leaded glass, or possibly even in the soil. This is a concern for me because my son eats dirt, if he can, and plays in it exclusive of other toys. If you do find it in the bathtub, check into the refinishing that Josie has mentioned. We had that done and it did the trick, no positive test. Sam had a lot of Epsom salt baths in this toxic bathtub, and I don't quite understand the science of it, how does the epsom salts increase the lead absorption.? I know that sounds dumb, but I just wanted tyo know. Thanks Libby
