And GF/CF has so many grains that seem to be so high on the glycemic index. And like you said the fruit sweetened stuff seems to add to his yeast problem. Obviously the SCD diet would probably work best for your child and mine but it is so much more restrictive and I can't get my son to try any of the stuff on the diet. This yeast thing is really frustrating. Someone posted something about a product called Alli-c that is for both yeast and bacteria I am going to look into it. Also a lot of people talk about using candidase and virastop enzymes I may have to look into that too. Does your child have a lot of ups and downs with sugar. Mine seems to and I even check his blood sugar with a glucose monitor at times and his levels are all over the place. I thought warts were caused by a virus. Guest guest
We were able to take our 10 yr daughter (ADHD, ODD, OCD) off Straterra (40mg) after completing about 10 rounds of ALA chelation, basic supplements, additional calcium/magnesium/zinc, and yeast treatment with Candidase. Her biggest issues were inattentiveness/obsessions/and big defiance. We continue with the supplements, chelation, yeast treatment and while she is not *perfect* she is so much better than she was on the Straterra. She had a terrible appetite before and had gained very little weight since starting meds at the age of 6. She now eats like a normal growing 10 yr old and has gained almost 10 lbs in the last 3 months. While she's not on any diet, I try to severely limit sugar and artificial ingredients for her. This is often difficult because of her age, but it REALLY helps. Any time she spends the night at a friends and has access to sweets and soft drinks she turns into a real monster. She now realizes that artificials and nitrates give her headaches and will many times stay away from them voluntarily. She drinks only milk or water-no juices or soft drinks-except on a rare occasion. For your daughter I would definitely consider a trial of anti-virals such as OLE or Virastop in addition to what you are doing. If nothing else they would probably help with the warts. I haven't tried these for my 10 yr old yet but I plan to at some point as she was fully vaxed and more than likely does have some viral issues. Guest guest
--- God bless ya, that sounds like a horrible thing to go through. i'm praying for you. I've read on here that Three Lac is a God send for treating yeast when nothing else will work. Also tons of people around here use Virastop. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Yes, especially if the child is metal toxic or has systemic virus issues. > But she also has warts on her elbow? And it looks like one on her lip. Other parents are having success eliminating warts by giving olive leaf extract and/or Virastop enzyme. Yes, warts indicate that there are viruses that are affecting her. > I remembereading if you can't kill yeast, you have a viral proble > m? Metals and/or viruses. Guest guest
Bridget, Your daughter sounds like mine. We are GF/CF plus no egg, peanut or vanilla. For her it is a must to be very low sugar and I contribute that to her high viral load and heavy metal isssues. Since Nystatin is not for long term use you may want to consider adding in an anti-fungal such as GSE or O of O. For my daughter viral die-off increases yeast - BIG TIME!!! So we have to go low and slow or the yeast gets too bad. Low and frequent dosings of ViraStop have helped my daughter tremedously with viral issues. When we firsted started we used vitamin c and increased up to gut level which took about eight months. Vitamin c continues to be an important part of her protocal.
