My son wont take them either so, I coat them in chocolate. Can't gaurantee he

will but is worth a try.

My son likes the taste but hates the texture of the dry pills hence chocolate

works. He has oral defensiveness and taste/texture sensitivities.

Good luck, Haleh

Hi a,

My son refused them at first, but realized he can eat more choices if he has

the enzymes. I hold up a very desirable food that he can't have without the

enzymes and he usually givees in. He even likes the zyme Prime now.

Good Luck,

Regina

a-

My son refuses the AFP chewable. He'd rather not eat, no matter what

the food is. Our only alternative was the powder, snuck into

applesauce or juice.

My son, who will do capsules, does not like the chewables either. I

thought he would and have 2 bottles - one Peptzide and the other Zyme.

I appreciate the suggestions as to how to get kids to take them so

hopefully we won't be wasting $$.

My son hated them at first. What worked in our favor was he was gfcf when we

started them. There were so many things he couldn't have until we found these

enzymes. What worked for him was to show him a cookie and tell him if he ate

his vitamins he could have it. Worked. So what we did was do the capsule

enzymes mixed in with his food...out of his site so he didn't know what we were

doing...and gave the chewables with things he really wanted but if he didn't eat

the enzymes it wouldn't be a big deal if he didn't get the food. After awhile

he just got used to them and it isn't an issue now. It did take a long time to

get to this point though. My son like most ASD kids is not crazy about change

of any kind, especially with something that goes in the mouth.

Just what worked for us.

We have just the opposite thing in our home. The chewable enzymes

have been a blessing for us. Our son hated the capsules, powder,

etc. It was hell getting him to take them.

Now, my son askes for his enzymes and holds them up to our family and

tells them that he takes enzymes. When I give them to him, he just

says " thanks mom " ..... Truly a blessing for us.

This defintely shows how different our kids can be.

And, it is good that HNI gives us alternatives because I dont know

what I would do without the chewables.

Same here Kim! We were giving Kirkman's capsules and opening them up

into water (with stevia) and he eventually just stopped drinking it.

He's been on them for 6+ months but just stopped the past couple of

months. He LOVES the chewables.

Also the chewable CLO and Omegas from Nordic Naturals has been a

blessing. He won't take the liquid anymore but eats the chewable

soft gells like candy even though he's never had candy.

Thanks all, for your help. I tried to give him some in his OJ which

he cant normally have (but loves) cause it sends him bonkers. He

wouldnt drink it! He tests everything I give him! and he can tell if

I put it in or not.....however he has come down with a fever and sore

throat so I will wait till he is better cause I am gettting no where

right now.

But thanks for you suggestions and will try them all. He's such a

smartypants...lol
