Guest guest
Absolutely start one at a time, preferably on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, so if there's a problem you won't find out about it from the school. Basic Nutrients Plus has 20 mg of vitamin B6. That amount of B6 caused severe hyperactivity in my son. Do yourself a favor and start at 1/4 or even 1/8 the dose and give it at least a week or two before increasing. And give Epsom salts baths or Epsom salts cream and No-Fenol enzyme along with it. They help the body to process the B6. We've been able to increase the dose with no side effects by doing it this way. Reduced glutathione (what's in Essential GSH) caused an entire day of wild hyperactivity. I didn't dare try it again. Course I started with the full dose. Never do that again... Cod liver oil supplies vitamins A and D, basically. Worthwhile and low risk, IMO. Glutathione (in Essential GSH) is a chelator and I assume Chelate-Mate is too. We haven't done chelation, but the general advice I've seen is first heal the gut, then restore nutrient stores in the body, *then* chelate. I'm sure others can supply more detailed information. Oh, and our kids' guts are often so damaged they can't absorb the supplements we give them. So I always give supplements with an enzyme--Prime Zyme and No-Fenol in our case. Guest guest
I thought if you gave an enzyme at the same time as your supplements you would nullify the supplement? I hope I am wrong. It is so hard to figure out when to give what. If you miss that tiny window, the whoel day is off and you miss something. If I can give both enzyme and supplement then woohoo. Can I? Guest guest
You might be thinking about enzymes and probiotics. You want to digest food, not the helpful little critters that belong in your gut. Enzymes break down food and nutrients so that they can be absorbed. One reason for our kids' lousy nutritional status (aside from their lousy self-selected diets) is that they are unable to properly break down and absorb the good foods that they do eat. Giving enzymes with foods and supplements allows the kid to actually " get " what's in it. G. Guest guest
Thanks . I probably did get mixed up with sooooo many different things to supplement with, who could blame me? So no probiotics and enzymes but the otehr supps are ok with enzymes. I hear ya on the lousy self -selected diets. If he would get over that ;>) I'd be ever so happy. He likes baby food still and it seems to be the only way to get a wide variety into him. We don't do corn or apples but it still leaves a wide variety of baby food, he's nearly 5 and eats regular food too but to get good stuff into him I just started one meal a day with some added jars of baby food. Guest guest
--- How do you know enzymes are working? No more food particles in stool? He's not " going " everyday. BM I mean. The first one after we started enzymes this week almost looked hairy! Really gross! Really sorry! I bought a big thing of activated charcoal, how do I take it. Its not encapsulated. Just black crystals. I'm asking more for myself. I think my gut is damaged also. Probably yeast, isn't that the $64,000 question, " how do i kill off the bad yeast overgrowth! " Any info would be great. Right now I am trying 1/2 cap AFP Peptizyde and 1/2 cap NO fenol with breakfast. No incidents at school bathroom or otherwise. He is 8. Only communicates when it is demanded of him! He is so funny, and I love him however he is. Thanks and God Bless. April. Guest guest
> > I thought if you gave an enzyme at the same time as your supplements you > would nullify the supplement? Enzymes can be given together with most supplements. Some probiotics are affected by certain enzymes. Don't give supplements together with activated charcoal, or you will nullify the supplements. Guest guest
It is Dr Woeller and he is in Temecula (Stillpoint Medical Center). I like him a lot! And from what I hear he is one of the best in So Cal, one of the most experienced. We live an hour away from him but only had to go to his office once and then he will do phone appointments. No, they don't bill your insurance, you pay up front and then send superbills to your ins co. I am still trying to get mine to pay from January! Good luck! > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > Below is what was recommended by our DAN for our 5yr old son. Guest guest
I thought all of them--all the organisms have a protein coat so any protease will damage them. Guest guest
Renew Life products have a fairly good reputation. Their Kidzyme has enzymes, probiotics and amino acids in the same capsule. Here's what's listed in them: Containing: ParaPlant Enzyme Blend, L-Glutamine, Lecithin, Probiotic Blend (10 billion/gm proprietary blend of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium, infantis that does not require refrigeration.), Fructooligosaccharides (F.O.S.), N-Acetyl-d- Glucosamine (NAG). > > I thought all of them--all the organisms have a protein coat so any > protease will damage them. > > G. > > > > Does anyone know specifically which probiotics are impacted by > > mixing with enzymes? > > > > > > >
