Guest guest
My NT son caught chicken pox from a fellow student. He has been fine and is recovering well. However, I am very worried about my ASD daughter. She has a very poor immune system and doesn't do very well when sick. Of course I chose not to vaccinate her but now of course I am doubting that decision and fear for her health! She was also not vaccinated for MMR. Had most other vaccines. My DAN is on vacation of course, I am hoping to talk to him about acyclovir or valtrex. Perhaps we could use it when she breaks out in the rash? Anyone have any experience with chickenpox and ASD? Has anyone used antivirals? Would it make sense to start them now based on exposure? I have the following supplements, antivirals, antibacterials, etc. in the house: OLE, GSE, echinacea, Yeast-aid, virastop, vitamin C.... TIA! I also posted on CK2... Guest guest
Chicken pox is viral. There have been a couple other kids who have been talked about lately, seems to be going around. What they did is give lots of antivirals like olive leaf extract and also vitamin C. There are others you can use as well. Boosting her immune system now is a great idea...I like Beta Glucan but there are lots of antioxidants out there. Healthy eating is very important, go easy on the sugar. I would rather my kids get chicken pox than get vaccinated. You wouldn't happen to live in central Florida would you?! Really though, kids almost always sail through this and recover just fine. Let us know how it goes, will be thinking of you. jennaleeck <superkempusa@...> wrote: My NT son caught chicken pox from a fellow student. He has been fine and is recovering well. Guest guest
Your regular pediatrician may be willing to provide your daughter with antivirals in this situation and yes, it works after the fact. There is also a passive varicella immuneglobulin product although I heard that one manufacturer just stopped making it and another " new " one was just approved...don't like that. Zyme Prime enzyme is a backup. Peace, Kathy E. > > My NT son caught chicken pox from a fellow student. He has been fine > and is recovering well. However, I am very worried about my ASD > daughter. Guest guest
My asd sons school had a out break of chickenpox and my son did not get it. All of the other children were vaccinated for the chickenpox including my son. The other kids got it and not my son. He was on valtrex at the time. Even though his doctor said that valtrex does not prevent getting the chickenpox I do believe that it did help him not to get it. I think it has strengthen his immune system. I would give ole and think about valtrex. By the way, the kids that did get the chickenpox were fine in about a week. However, they had their shots , this is just my opinion. I would try to consult one of your doctors. My son has been on a supplement called IGG 2000, I think this has helped his immune system alot. Good luck. R> Chicken pox outbreak - antivirals?? Guest guest
I haven't heard of anyone getting it here. Our kids are older now and not something to worry about. We have been fighting this upper respiratory thing for a few weeks now. Can't seem to shake it. My husband and I have both had it as well as both boys. My daughter hasn't though, fingers crossed! How is your daughter, wasn't it her that was undergoing a procedure to clean out her colon??? cbfllady@... wrote: is it going around here? *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Guest guest
Hey again, yeah they did the BA enima Tuesday and said yeah shes backed up but he didnt see any areas that looked narrowing. BUT that was just the tech talking during it. Bri did awesome. She so didnt like the tape pulling her little soft bum bum but she did good other than that. They at first day she needs cleaned out more to do it I said well we are here cause I cant get her cleaned out. I did the soft foods and then liquid or no food and the lax the morning of. Heck even after her going thru that, she only got rid of the little bit of white bariom<?> left. No additional poops that day at all. She did poop some after the 1/2 lax 3 hours prior to the enima. So to me that tells them HEY THERES A PROBLEM HERE. But they said other than all of it in her things looked good. Appendex even looked good they said. Wont know anything more from the results till atleast MOnday (Acosta closes at 12 on Fridays and I called prior to that and havent gotten a call back yet.) We started back on B6/Mag yesterday and already Bris attitude is better (except for throwing the cat in the pool) Hope u and ur family feel better soon! I just had 2 crowns done Wednesday and Bris going for her first checkup at the dentist next Thursday(NO fluiride<?>) Man my spelling is off today lol ¶*:._.:*¶*:._.:*¶ Lena ¶*:._.:*¶*:._.:*¶ Re: Chicken pox outbreak - antivirals?? Guest guest
I have to say, when my kids all got chickenpox in 1984, the youngest got the lightest case and the oldest, it nearly did her in. And the middle one--about 12 years old...he got varicella croup. The younger kids actually handle chickenpox better than the older ones. That was one reason why people used to intentionally expose their children. PS...I survived today with Benny, we went to Silver River State Park with the dogs and to Silver Springs and he was very good. Peace, Kathy E. > > I haven't heard of anyone getting it here.
