Guest guest
I think my problem might be that I have low quantitative immunoglobins. Can anyone fill me in as to how difficult these are to treat and cure? I'm sure there's a very wide range of them but are they generally easy to fix or no? I have a doctor's appt. soon and my biggest worry is that the physician won't even listen to me or completely dismiss me as having Munchausen Syndrome as has happened with other doctors. Guest guest
Give the doctor your history of recurrent infections, assuming you have one. It isn't hard for them to do a blood test to screen and see what your quantitative immunoglobulins are. However, be warned, you have to have good insurance for the standard of care treatment, which is continuous maintenance infusions of gamma globulins, either IV once a month, or subcutaneous once a week, lifelong. Guest guest
---I don't have good insurance. I have Medicare. Does anyone know if they pay for the treatments? These problems are the reason I'm on Medicare to begin with. Hopefully, if the problem is what I think it is, I can start treatments and then get off Medicare once I'm able to work and fully support myself. How long do you have to do treatments before you see results?
