Guest guest
My friend's 11 year old son has pain directly underneath his bellybutton. He's been bloated, swollen, and burping all day due to eating spicy rice last night at dinner. He was on a prescription called Prevacid for similar pain and reflux a month ago. Mom is curious if Houston enzymes will help relieve the pain. Have enzymes helped anyone with similar experiences? Please email privately as I cannot access the board later tonight. Thanks in advance. --------------------------------- Start your day with - make it your home page
Guest guest
The school nurse just called to say that Henry is favoring his right hand and there is a bit of inflamation again. His right hand is the hand that was sprained so wouldn't he be favoring his left hand if that is the hand he is using primarily? Kay, I'm sure you know the answer being a nurse and all. It just sounds backwards to me......Anita --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? Check out Messenger's low PC-to-Phone call rates. Guest guest
I think in this context, she probably means he is treating the right hand with care or being gentle with it because it may be hurting him. Could be he's injured it again, or possibly the healing from the last remedy needs a boost. I'm sure your homeopath will direct you on what to do. Hope his hand is feeling better very soon! Guest guest
I'm sure that what she means, it just sounded backwards to me. I did call the peds office and they said she was using the term correctly. Just learned something new....:~) Anita Kay <dr-ky@...> wrote: I think in this context, she probably means he is treating the right hand with care or being gentle with it because it may be hurting him. Guest guest
Yes, I had to think about that twice before replying to you. It DOES sound like it should be used to refer to the other hand. : ) Kay Re: Quick Question Please > > >> The school nurse just called to say that Henry is favoring his right hand >> and there is a bit of inflamation again. Guest guest
Just jumping in here. Maybe the inflammation is not bothering him. Pain thresholds are a bit varied with these children. Guest guest
You are right about the pain threshold, but I think the presumption is that is bothering him due to his " favoring " of the hand in question. He was laying on his hand quite a bit a yesterday to engage in a self stimulatory behavior that resembles masturbation, but the real input is coming from his upper thigh. All that pressure combined with a meltdown before getting on the bus this morning may very well be aggravating factors responsible for the inflamation they are seeing. It's always a guessing game with this kid....Anita JULIE GRIFFITHS <moppett1@...> wrote: Just jumping in here. Maybe the inflammation is not bothering him.
