Guest guest
My daughter is 2yr5mo old. She switched from Kirkman's DDP IV enzymes to AFP Peptizyde a month ago. She loved the Houston chewable for the first three weeks and would often ask for more. Here's the briefest history: 7 wks -- Thrush. Yeast is still a problem. 19 mo. -- go GF, no artificial anything, organic everything 22 mo. -- go CF, soy/coconut/citrus/bean/mustard free; begin supps (incl. nystatin, advanced biocidin, Healthy Start probiotics, Kirkman DPP IV enzymes with Isogest) 2yr4mo -- revise supps. Change enzyme to AFP Peptizyde. Will be changing probiotic to Therbiotic Detox. Almost 4 weeks later, she is having a meltdown every time I give her the new enzyme -- and she doesn't normally meltdown. " I don't like this! " Coincidentally (?), she had a 16 hour vomitfest of a cold on Thursday and Friday (not die-off -- I then got it, as did DH and my mom). I loved the idea of a chewable since it is so convenient for me and for school. Plus, she loved the taste! But I found out it has orange in it, which is a high level allergen for her, plus she apparently hates it now. Is there another chewable I could try? I'm a pretty experienced mom, I've read 's website several times, and I have a great DAN (Usman). I've considered the fact that this behavior could be die off, but I need to change due to the orange flavor anyway. I don't see a lot of love on the boards for the Kirkman enzymes and I note that Dr. Usman didn't have on a broad spectrum one. I'm a little confused as to what might be a good one to try next. Should I just start at the top of 's " go slow " plan or should I jump into the middle somewhere based on our past use? Or should I just trust whatever Usman's nurse recommends (my LEAST favorite!). Thanks so much! Dawn
Guest guest
Hi Dawn... Actually, we love the Kirkman enzymes, especially the new one (Dr. Buie helped develop it) the DPPIV with Isogest. It takes care of some subclasses that we needed and when we ran out, used another that just didn't do the trick. (nausea, gut pain, gas)...so we concluded the DPPIV with Isogest was getting something the others didn't and went back. My daughter and grandsons can't swallow pills so we just dump the cap into a glass and add whatever drink goes with the meal. Using a straw for the older ones and the bottle for the 3 yr old that spills out any cup we give him are the favored methods of delivery. I also can sprinkle and rub it into the bottom of a muffin I make for them if the little guy doesn't want the " ba " and no one notices. Why did you switch? Looking for better results or because of delivery method? V > > My daughter is 2yr5mo old. She switched from Kirkman's DDP IV > enzymes to AFP Peptizyde a month ago.
