Guest guest
Amino acids like GABA, 5-HTP are good. Pain and Stress Center in Texas, wwwpainstresscenter.com sells many things that can help. Check them out. Also, see if your library has a book called Potatoes, Not Prozac. Do a google search on that name and you will find the author's site. Also, look into natural progesterone cream--it can really help with women's hormone levels. Hope you find something helpful. kennetheriklucy <eislerfamily@...> wrote: I am calling on your help and advice for me, this time. Could anyone please suggest to me something for depression? Guest guest
When this hit me about 5 years ago (In addition to the sx's you mention, I was also having difficulty sleeping normally), I began taking flaxseed oil capsules AM & PM at someone's recommendation and found that it relieved my symptoms very well. (Now with the lengthy thread about EFA's that I've been unsuccessfully trying to follow, I count myself fortunate! Actually, I suspect my natural estrogen levels began falling off as I was in my mid-30's when this supposedly begins to happen and flax is supposed to be helpful that way) But I have since replaced the flax with purified fish oil caps and still find myself holding steady for the most part. I could always tell when I hadn't had enough sleep though, because that's the one time that I would start feeling those things again and after I got adequate rest, I would feel fine again. Hope something in my own experience helps! ~Grace > kennetheriklucy <eislerfamily@g...> wrote: > I am calling on your help and advice for me, this time. > Could anyone please suggest to me something for depression? > I find myself to be very depressed, anxious, and irritable lately. > I heard that vita. Guest guest
YEAH for happy tears!!! I just bought that today, wanting to try it with all of us. How are you giving it to your daughter? I haven't tried it yet to see how it tastes. I am hoping I can mix it in ketchup or something similar? So glad you found something that is working so well. My chiro has been after me to try this stuff for awile now. Fingers crossed for my gang, Kari Trautman <karitrautman@...> wrote: Seeing this post just makes me have to respond. But B's just made her hyper, and after using an expensive EFA for 4 months realized it did nothing, along with all other stuff I tried. Then I'm finding it might be a key to enabling the EFA's, which might explain why our attempt at utilizing the EFA's in the past failed. Tomorrow introducing COL too. We'll see. But doing a little research shows for some lecithin and the EFA's really do wonders for the brain; depression; anxiety. I guess if depends on whether or not this deficiency is the root, but seems like something easy to try. We're using the granules, which seems to be recommended. Guest guest
I don't think it tastes too bad, but kids might. I put it in a smoothie and only need a little bit, or pear sauce. I always like the breaking it up into two doses for starters. I'm doing 2 teaspoons twice a day, she's 9 and 60 lbs. FYI smoothie's for us is just frozen raspberries; rice milk; water; and some stevia, so easy. Does your chiro want you to do EFA's too? Maybe try it without and then with, and see if either work. Hope so!!! Kari Re: help for mom YEAH for happy tears!!! I just bought that today, wanting to try it with all of us. How are you giving it to your daughter? Guest guest
No Fenol. Take one in the morning before you eat anything, and work up to 1 at least per meal/snack. I am just about to start this with my kids and I but I am not wanting to add female hormones to their bodies, that is why I don't give them soy. Guest guest
THANKS! That is an easy way to make smoothies and I generally have all that stuff. I have an ice cream maker...may have to make really healthy ice cream! Kari Trautman <karitrautman@...> wrote: I don't think it tastes too bad, but kids might. Guest guest
Yep, just finished reading the package, only started it at the store. Derived from soy. Well I guess I will be giving that to just me. Do you know of any sources that aren't soy derived? I just don't want to give my boys something that is going to increase female hormones in their body, they haven't even started puberty yet. Increased estrogens also increases prostate issues for men. They are young for that of course but if it can cause prostate issues in older men, what can it do to little boys? Am I making more out of this? Thanks, Cj Dir <gstone98@...> wrote: over 99% of the lecithin used commercially comes from soybeans. Soy boosts estrogen Re: help for mom > Lecithin boost estrogen? In what way? Guest guest
Amber....have you checked yourself for candida? How are your vit and mineral levels...how about heavy metals... those sure have caused us a lot of trouble...esp the candida... I use B-complex but also needed my candida and allergies to get under control before a lot of this stuff settled down... I am giving hubby SAMe for his depression problems...and it seems to help. I know that there are a lot of things that can cause it....where do you live....do you take a supplement for vit D....for many of us....winter causes Seasonal Depression...or SAD....I take D and have lots and Lots of natural (full) spectrum florescents. I know that many folks don't like them...but they have been a real blessing for me...I live in the NW and get months and months of gray days sometimes.... Hope you find your answers and here's a sisterly hug and prayer for you! Ronni (http://weatherpixie.com/) weather
Guest guest
eggs and organ meats . My boys eat some soy, but not a whole lot. On cereal in some foods, etc., but not whole glasses to drink, etc. Lecithin provides choline. You can get choline from other sources.Choline is precursor for methionine, which many ASD kids are deficient in. My son takes methionine supplements from Twinlab. Men & boys have estrogen in their bodies, just as women have testosterone. Re: help for mom Yep, just finished reading the package, only started it at the store. Derived from soy. On other message boards, CLO and other EFAs are often reported as helping with depression. Dana
