What a load of diagnoses you are carrying.....I was wondering what kind of treatments you are on right now, and if you have tried the antibiotics, or otherwise what attracted you to the group. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis a " cousin " to Sclaraderma. I am in pretty good remission. Go to the web site at www.rheumatic .org and click on the patients stories and you will see people there with the Sclaraderma. For instance, does your child have tort and plagio? Is he in a band or a helmet? Was he diagnosed by ped, neuro, cranio-facial specialist, etc? How old is your son? I don't think you will regret your decision and I'll bet that your son will handle it like a trooper! You have come to the right place for support and answers to questions. Just keep telling yourself. It is for his own good. My son is 9 1/2 months old and has been in his band since 1/16/01. He adjusted just fine. I think it unnerves me than him. He has just learned a new word " hat " and points to his head. You CAN do this. I'm sure you will find yourself with a million questions, people around here are wonderful they have been there, heard that, and seen that and are more than willing to help you. I have found great people here. Welcome agian, if you want to see pic. of my baby in his band and before he is in the files under Sam. Guest guest Posted January 31, 2001 Report Share Posted January 31, 2001 I know how you feel! My daughter got casted last week and is getting her DOC band next Wednesday. It is a BIG decision. I struggled with the decision to band her for 2 months before we finally got her casted. I just couldn't live with myself if I didn't do all I could. It would be hard for a kiddo if they had a " wierd " shaped head and knew that Mommy and Daddy could have done something about it and didnt. Hang in there! I am sure everyone who has ever had there child casted and in the band knows how you feel. Just remember that you are doing something really great for your child. Plus, they will never remember wearing the band....(I think). Guest guest Posted April 24, 2007 Report Share Posted April 24, 2007 Hi Robin, Great to see you here! :-) You probably won't learn anything specific about LDN and PLS that I haven't already sent you but you will get a much better feel for LDN in general and how it can help plus pick up other knowledge which will show your doc when you ask for a script that you've been doing your homework.
