Guest guest
Niki, Good luck with your ped! It is great that you have done your research - that should help. Welcome to the group - it's good to have you here!! Marci
Guest guest
The same thing happen to us. I noticed my sons head not looking right at 3months. I got comments like " kids heads aren't like bowling balls and it will round out on its own " I like you am angry and frustrated because of the precious time lost. My son is 8months and is waiting to get molded for the doc band. Be happy that your daughter is still under the 6 month range. From what you wrote it sounds like she has plagio and or tort. My son has both. We also have BCBS and have waited 2 weeks just to get authorization to start. We will hopefully have an answer today. Even if the answer is " no " we can still start and then appeal. I guess you have to wait at least for an answer.......if you start early they may penalize you later for not checking with them first and not cover costs at all. IT FRUSTRATING i know I've been very antsy the last 2 weeks...............this website is the only thing that has kept me going........Welcome and Good luck at your appt. Let us know what your ped says. Heidi & Luke (still waiting)
Guest guest
Hi Niki, I am also from Philly. We use the Star band. At the time our daughter was molded I didn't know much about plagio and that was the one that we were referred to. I also have personal choice and so far there hasn't been a problem. Talk to the people at the place where you will get the helmet. We use Total Care. If you have any more questions, please feel free to e-mail me directly. Lgins1997@... Guest guest
Niki - you have your hands full. Wow and Welcome! Does Kaylie have torticollis? Is she in pt? Often time it is twin A that develops plagio and tort, the bottom of the pile! Now is the best time for treatment. If you ped doesn't listen to you, find a doctor that will. Sorry, in WI so no help with doctors! Keep us posted on how your appointment goes. Would like to hear if your in pt too. Please join the torticolliskids egroups too!
