Guest guest
Okay you guys may all think I'm nuts but I just thought I would throw this out. I was wondering since growth is a huge factor in getting the band to work if it would be beneficial to keep the older kids who are getting the band on formula as opposed to milk. Most peds say that after a child turns 1 they can start on whole milk. Does anybody know if the child was kept on formula if they would continue the more rapid growth. I kept Maggie on formula for a month after she turned 1 (she got her band 1 week shy of her 1st b-day). She did have growth spurts and the band completely corrected her forehead bulge within 8 weeks. I'm just trying to help the parents of the older kids. It is just a thought - to try to keep the growth rate up. Guest guest
Kaycee: I think as long as Maggie gets lots of nutritious food that formula wont be making the difference. A body will grow as it needs to, and anything extra will be used as storage, or eliminated. Ya know when you take a multivitamin, and a couple of hours later you go to the bathroom? It's usually a darker colour than usual right? Well, I guess you didn't' need that stuff! Sorry for the rude example, but does that make sense?
