Guest guest
Hi! I've been reading the post about sleep and the use of 5 htp. My child who's 6 and 60lbs is just like I believe Amber's child ~ goes right to bed and then wakes, like clock work, at 2:30 for a couple of hours. We've been dealing with this since he's been 3. We've done pretty much everything mentioned (except clonindine) and the 5-htp. I'm curious as to the dosage used. I thought i may have read 1/2 of a 50mg capsule. And is it given just at night? Any input would be appreciated! Donna
Guest guest
Hi Donna, As bad as I feel for you, it's nice to know that I am not alone. My son is almost 5 yrs. old, and has been like this since the day I had him. I've talked to a lot of other moms, and nobody else seems to have a problem sleeper as severe as mine. I feel really alone. I've tried a lot of things, and nothing has helped him. On Monday, I am starting him on Nystatin, because I believe he has a problem with yeast overgrowth, and man, am I hoping it helps his sleep!!! I've heard of 5-HTP, but haven't tried it, so if you do, and good things happen, PLEASE let me know. Thanks. Amber. Guest guest
--- >Amber, I will definitely let you know if it has any positive effect on his sleep. It is a frustrating situation. I was hoping we can do something more natural than do the clonindine, which may not work either. Cameron has done the 90 days of nystatin and it seemed to help with other issues, but not the sleep. And now that he is in kindergarten, the lack of sleep really is becoming an issue. But don't be discouraged by Cameron's lack of response sleep-wise w/ the nystatin, cause every kid is so different. It may, and i hope it does, be the ticket for your child. Donna In , Amber Eisler <eislerfamily@g...> wrote: > > Hi Donna, > As bad as I feel for you, it's nice to know that I am not alone.
