Guest guest
I bet you feel better. Sam turned 9 months on 1/11/01 and he is adjusting very well. Guest guest
Dominika: Thanks for the encouragement. It was a hard decision for us to make, but I believe in my heart of hearts it is the right thing to do. I am glad to hear you have had wonderful improvements with Aimee's helmet. What shaped head did she have before treatment? Hannah's is Scaphocephalic. She is flat on both sides with a protruding forehead. The Orthotist said she should get some rounding out around the temples and hopefully push her forehead back some...but no guarantees. I am very nervous about the whole procedure. Its so hard when your baby is involved in anything that may make them unhappy. Did you have any problems with Aimee adjusting to the helmet? I just pray eveything goes well for my Hannah. I will feel so guilty if it doesn't. Keep me informed on Aimee's progress. Thanks. Guest guest
Heidi: Thanks for the posting. I think Hannah will have to get two bands also. The orthostist said she didn't know for sure (I guess it is just a guessing game)...hopefully she will just need one. Our insurance has denied the charges for the band, so my husband and I are going to probably have to eat the charge of $3500.00. I will appeal the insurance (Humana) companys decision and hopefully will have good luck. I waited 2 months to hear from the insurance just to get where we are now....can't wait anymore since Hannah is getting old. I have read that people have had good success with treating older children. Hannah will be 10 1/2 months old by the time she gets fitted for her band. I pray it works. Good luck to you and Luke. Keep in touch.... I'll keep you all in my thoughts. Best success. Stacey > Hi Stacey, > > Good luck with the casting on Monday. Guest guest
Stacey, After hearing your email about waiting 2 months to get where you are now.....I think we should bite the bullet and charge it ourselves too. It's been a week and half since Luke was diagnosed with Plagio and nothing has happen.......just waiting. Im getting more and more frustrated with each passing day. I'm happy for you that your day is finally here. Good luck with casting on Monday. I can't wait to hear how it goes. Heidi
Guest guest
If at all possible and you can do it, pay cash and ask for a cash discount. They will usually give 10% off and every little bit helps! Good luck! Sue & Bakersfield, CA > > Hi Stacey, > > > > Good luck with the casting on Monday. Guest guest
Heidi: Thanks! We are glad we are finally getting the process started for Hannah. I do regret waiting the 2 months for the whole insurance, doctors etc. Each day is important. The sooner you catch the problem the better the result (I hear anyway). We are going ahead on on own and will fight the insurance company along the way. I have to admit, this is one of the hardest decisions we have had to make for Hannah. I want to do the best thing for our daughter and it is so frustrating when you get one answer from your peditrician and another from someone else (i.e. neurosurgeon, orthotist). I did alot, (I mean alot) of research and posting on my own to make the decision. I feel in my heart of hearts it is the right decision....and it is AMAZING how much relief I have had since we have made the decision to just go ahead and get her banded. My advice, (for what it is worth) is DO NOT WASTE valuable time. Good Luck and let me know if I can be of any help (I will do whatever I can). Guest guest
Stacey Thanks for the encouraging message. I know we made the right decision for Luke. I just want to get the ball rolling and like you said not waste valuable time. I will be letting you know how things go.
