Laurie - We have had the DOC and STAR and they clean the same. No fleece with the STAR Band. Is this something they added??? The foam inner just gets clean with alcohol!

I have to check with the orthotist about the fleece. It may be added just for cushion, but that is the part that gets dirty and really smells! If it doesn't improve, I'll ask if the fleece is necessary. Once I get a picture, I'll try to put it in the file so everyone can see what I am talking about with the fleece. I'll let you know when I put the picture in.

Laurie - Do you have a star in the back of your band? Then a STAR Band. Why he added the fleece, ask him. The heads get hot enough in the band let along wearing a "hat" under it! Have you tried the dryer on delicate?

Laurie:

Try Shout wipes. I used them on the DOC Band velcro, and they

worked pretty good.

Glad to hear is doing good!:o)

Hi - I

know I keep asking, but I REALLY need some advice about cleaning the

star band helmet.

If sweats it smells REALLY bad. I don't know about

the doc band, but the Star

band has white "plastic" cushion foam which is no

problem to just wipe because

the water just bubbles off of it. The problem

is with the fleece.

The fleece retains the moisture. To wash the fleece

sort of ruins it.

It gets replaced every 3 weeks when we see the orthotist.

Also, it takes forever to

dry. Does anyone wash it with a wash cloth or just

put the whole thing under

the faucet or what? We also tried just airing it

out outside. Any advice

would be really helpful. Thanks!

Laurie

p.s. is really

loving her helmet now!
