Kendra - Is my email screwy! Yours are blank and have a zip file attached to them. Any one else with this problem?

I thought you were the moderator/owner. I'm all for you anyway!!! Just curious, who is? I've been on the board since last May and just thought you were!

Go for it Kendra. You are the perfect choice to have as " owner " of

the group!

Hi Kendra--

I am a moderator for an egroup called the HoustonMommies. Before you

can become moderator, the lady that started the group must 'promote'

you.(of course she needs to answer your e-mails first :) ). Tell her

it is a very simple process---just click on your name in the member

area and then click on 'promote to moderator'. After she has done

that she needs to then take herself off as moderator to activate

you---then you are in charge. Once you are moderator you will be

able to set different accesses within the site.

My site has been up for about 6 months, so if you need any help just

holler!

I'm on another e-group that will unsubscribe you if

you don't post at least once a month - can we do that for this person?

Unfortunately, we have lost touch with the group owner. I have some

moderator privileges, but I don't have access to this feature.

On that note, (the owner) has not posted since September.

She was around for a day or two (and hadn't posted since the previous May).

She hasn't been heard from since. I loved to pieces, but I

feel that many things need to be updated on this site. I (and others)

have tried to contact her on several occasions without any luck.

So........ Would anyone object to me seeking ownership of this site?

I have been an active member since Feb (I think!) of last year, and have

been a moderator for many months. My main goal is to get more info.

out to new members, and to make some weekly messages that refer to commonly

asked questions (such as how to upload files, etc.).

Please let me know what you think, either here or at my private email

(kbgarv@...)

Thanx!

That is what I was trying to explain---she only took you half way.

She made you moderator but never took herself off as owner. Until

she does that you will not be able to get access to change the

settings etc. It is a safety mechanism egroups set up. The rub

comes in when the owner disappears. The only solution that egroups

will give you is to start a new site or contact the owner.

Thanx .

I am currently a moderator (and have been for several months), but would

like access to more options, like I said in my previous post.

Thanx for your offered help

Your mails were blank for me yesterday! Same with Belinda's (and

I think one other person as well).

Crain is the owner. Her daughter, Grace had a DOC Band

early last year.

Kendra,

What does it mean to be the " owner " ? There is certainly no one more

dedicated to this site than you, so you seem the logical one to me!

Thanks,

The " owner " simply has access to more features in the group. I'd like

to be able to change some things that are outdated (many address still

say onelist.com), and possibly send out weekly tips (such as how to

upload files, etc.).

Doesn't sound like this is going to happen tho. Unless pops in

to say hi, I think things will stay as is.

Just wanted to add my two cents about group owner...you do a great job and

are very dedicated...I hope this gets fixed soon so you can make the

upgrades you want. It will certainly benefit all of us. Also hope is

doing well - she certainly was also very helpful to the group!.

To update on that......

I have gotten my moderator privileges upgraded, but will remain

the group owner. That actually makes me feel a lot better, since I

didn't want to take the group from her (should she ever return), but I

can still make some changes/updates.

Thanx for your support! :o)
