Woo hoo-I have my son back. I am scared to get too excited though. We had been

GFCFSF since my son got diagnosed ASD in Feb 06. This weekend we went off the

diet, because we went out of town for three days for a wedding. The first night

we did Outback because of the GF menu-but he snuck in some not so GF foods, so I

gave up, and made sure we gave enzymes.

It was the best weekend, and now Monday too, of our life. Ever since we

started the diet, the only thing I saw was improved stools-no difference in

behavior though....it is almost like he was in a fog ON the diet.

Well...now he is more hyper, but a hilarious, rambunctious, curious, vocal,

two year old. He is immitated kids at the wedding, danced, laughed, and talked

to adults and kids alike. His PT session today was the best ever. He followed

a 4 step schedule (never even knew or cared about a schedule before), galloped,

jumped, and celebrated his goals.

His bm's have been fab! Keep in mind we had chronic, unbelievable, diarhea

problems for over a year.

Could his gut be healed already? Should I brace myself for regression?

Sorry so long-I am just so happy-yet scared at the same time. Why does the

GFCF diet not work for some? One would think it would be good for all? Oh, did

I mention that he developed severe ezcema and food intolerances once he started

GFCF!?
