helpful hints for casting

Our daughter just got banded on 12/29 and things are going swimmingly! The

casting process was tough but not bad, she only cried some at the end when

the entire cast was on. (I think it gets pretty heavy, she had trouble

holding her little head up!) But when it gets to this point, it comes right

off! She was 7 months when she got it and we can already tell a difference

on at least one side of her head, so it is progress and it reassures us that

we ARE doing the right thing! Anyway, we gave our daughter some tylenol

about an hour before the casting, it really was for teething pain, but it

really made her a little more easy going. Just keep talking to your baby

through the entire process and touch as much as you can. And definitely

give big hugs and kisses as soon as the cast slips off! But, as soon as you

put them in the bath, they have long forgotten it.
