Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My 3 yo ASD son will only take his enzymes/supplements in a beverage (not water) and so far it is either juice, chocolate almond milk, or when we are out, sprite. I hate the fact that he is getting so much sugar in his diet and I'm sure it is contributing to some other issues. I can only get him to eat the Zyme Prime Chewables and not the AFP chewables, so I have to put the AFP cap in liquid. I have been trying to teach him how to swallow capsules, but that is just a losing battle at this point. Does anyone have a recipe for a kid approved drink that doesn't contain a ton of sugar and dyes? Does anyone have any experience with Xylitol? Thanks a bunch!! Guest guest
Well I don't know if this is helpful or not, but I make a smoothie every morning for my daughter with organic yogurt, organic milk, and organic fruit and I throw in her supplements including enzymes all into the blender. She is six and has a very hard time getting pills down.........most of the time she will gag and barf. My daughter is is intolerant to corn syrup and dye, among other things so I understand your need to make the drink healthy. holden5577 <holden5577@...> wrote: Hi Everyone, My 3 yo ASD son will only take his enzymes/supplements in a beverage (not water) and so far it is either juice, chocolate almond milk, or when we are out, sprite. Guest guest
Hi , This may not be the best method out there, but my daughter only takes her via liquid too. We make a special jug of kool-aid made with very little organic sugar, just for mixing. I believe the recipe per package of kool-aid is 1 cup, we use less than a 1/2 cup to make it....just enough to take the bitterness/sourness off it. Then we mix our enzymes/supplements,etc in a small 2 oz plastic container. She has never complained about the taste and it takes the bite off the powdered enzymes enough that she will not complain about that either. Like I said, it is probably not the best method, but it's very little sugar IMHO.
