Guest guest
Hi Lily, will give you all the info you need in a handout regarding cleaning, skin problems, etc. Be sure to get 91 or 99% isopropyl alcohol (available at Long's and Rite Aid, and probably elsewhere). He will put the band on and leave it for about 15 minutes and then take it off for adjustments. Don't be surprised if it's left a little long on his forehead...he will adjust it at future visits. By the way, for your info, the office is not open on Mondays, so adjustments will have to wait until Tuesday. Good luck and play it by ear and see how long he can wear it at first. You will be told to remove the band and check the skin every 4 to 6 hours for the first 2 days. I also took that opportunity to wipe my baby's sweaty head. was fine with it while awake, but sleeping was a different issue. After the first week or two, all of you will be quite used to it! Good luck!! Sue & (1/21/00) Bakersfield, CA > Hi All, > > I just found out that Drew's DOC band will be ready tomorrow, > Thursday, so we will be going to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Guest guest
Hi Sue, Thanks for the thoughts. I'll definitely try to get the 99% alcohol. Drew already sweats a lot from his head, so I can only imagine how bad it will get with the band. I didn't realize they were closed on Mondays, thanks for the heads up. I'm a little nervous, but hopefully, all will go well. Thanks again, Lily > > Hi All, > > > > I just found out that Drew's DOC band will be ready tomorrow, > > Thursday, so we will be going to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. > I'm > > sure this has probably been asked before, so I apologize if this is > > repetitious. > > Does anyone have any insights on what to ask the technician, and > what > > to expect at this appointment. Guest guest
Hi Kendra, Thanks for the insights. The cotton ball idea is great, I'll make sure to pick up some of those as well. The person who's painting Drew's band has done this many times before (was referred by CT), so I think she does varnish the band with several coats and provides some touch up paint. But, I'll be sure to ask just in case. Thanks for suggesting it. We'll see how he does this weekend. Hopefully he'll adjust quickly. If things don't go well, I'm sure I'll be turning to you folks for some expert advice. Thanks in advance.
