Guest guest
We are just starting out and I am not sure which one to use....Lacro or Peptizyde. My son does have a big issue w/ milk. His Entrolab results were 47 and they should be under 10. (But his serum blood test can back negative for a milk allergy.) My question is....I have removed milk from his diet (about 3 weeks ago.) Lacto is for dairy lactose digestion, correct. Should I still use Lacto jsut becasue it is a good broad spectrum + dairy or just use Peptizyde?? We are on nothing else at this time...we are just starting. No other enzymes, suppliments...nothing. Over the last few weeks we have been eliminating Gluten & Casien, but have had few 100% GFCF days. Thanks!!
Guest guest
Sounds like you are doing great. Slowly getting those out of his diet is definitely easier on his system. Which enzyme you chose is largely your decision. Many of us use different brands. The ones we use are Houston's. I use the AFP Peptizyde (since it seemed so many kids didn't tolerate the regular Peptizyde...though not always the case). Zyme Prime and No Phenol. It does require three different ones but those enzymes seem to cover all foods. Given with each meal has really helped my son. Best of luck!! <stacywakefield@...> wrote: We are just starting out and I am not sure which one to use....Lacro or Peptizyde. My son does have a big issue w/ milk. Guest guest
You have got the right idea. Lacto and Peptizyde are very different enzyme blends. Peptizyde is only for proteases. Casein is a protein in dairy. Peptizyde works well in this protein. However, dairy also contains sugars/carbs, fats, and other compounds. Peptizyde does not work on these. Lacto contains extra enzymes for the all these components, including some enzymes for the casein. It isn't just for lactose although that is one component it works on. It is designed to work on the complete dairy food. It works well as a broad-spectrum product for multiple other foods as well...just with extra enzymes for dairy. However, again, the Lacto may not be sufficient to replace a GFCF diet alone...unless you take more capsules. So it can be much more efficient and effective to add the Peptizyde to the Lacto. This gives you a lot more proteases to help with the proteins...and can help with gut healing too. So both together make a very nice all round enzyme program that really targets the complete dairy food. If you are just starting out, do you know if your child is sensitive to phenols, colorings, or certain fruits? If you aren't sure, or your child is sensitive, then look for enzymes without papain and bromelain. Lacto does not contain these, and the AFP version of Peptizyde does not have these. For starting one product at a time, start the Lacto gradually working up to one full capsule per meal. After about a week, add in the AFP Peptizyde gradually until you get to one full capsule. That is a good base starting program that minimizes problems in the beginning. After you are using enzymes a few weeks (or one bottle's worth of both products), there is usually enough gut healing that you can experiment with different products or proceed to add in other things. I've used both these products with good success. Here is the Low-n- Slow Method which explains how this stategy came about. http://www.enzymestuff.com/basicsdosing.htm?lang=en . >>>> We are just starting out and I am not sure which one to use....Lacro or Peptizyde.
