Guest guest
We went to Children's Hosp. today and saw one of the " countries finest neurosurgeons " . He looked at Sam's head, felt 'carefully' is sagital suture and then talked about x-rays. We told him that the sutures were open. (I think he was surprised) He went to look at the x-rays. We freaked thinking the worst because he looked very concerned. He came back in and told us yes they were open. He just has an elongated head. I told him he was NOT born this way. (This is from about 4 months) He said we should be happy. (We are happy about not having the surgery...we knew this 2 weeks ago) I asked him about banding and he said no for the following reasons: 1. He is 8 months old which is too old. 2. Banding does not correct an elongated head shape like that of the sagital suture cranio. He then did the unthinkable he looked at my husbands head and said " see, look at his head... (you can say anything my husbands head is NOT elongated) even he had to say " well not really " ! We are willing to go to Kansas City. But this jerk would not write a script. (They have their own ortho that fix flat spots when they are really young. Not an old man at 8months) Sorry if your computer is smoking... I guess I am " a little " upset. It was almost like he was sorry it wasn't cranio " he can fix that " If ANYONE can help please give us information. I went to the Cranio Tech. sight and printed the specialists Singahi and Colyer, Heibert ar Dr.s listed on the sight. Has anyone gone to them??? I just cant understand why all the dr.s are so alarmed about the shape until they find out the sutures are open. Please help Sorry I sound so mad...I am... but I'm sorry to dump on you... I had all these things I wanted to say, but whenever I said anything (like his ears being crooked) he kinda laughed.. Like I was this dumb woman. Sam with the crooked head's mom that should learn to live with a long skull.
