Guest guest
hi there- we have been going it slow. We got to ZP at every meal then started adding peptizide afp at 1/2 for one- now up to 1/2 for all meals (and most snacks.) has had some regression (after adding PEP)- lethargic (which I suppose wouldn't be all bad if he would respond.) also he took odd toys yesterday and started lining them up. I had read in the enzymes for autism book that some kids do better when you do feed them the offending foods. We had been gfcf for 18 mo and I thought- what the heck- I'll add some gluten so I gave him 4 small pretzels. Not sure if this made it worse or same....but not better. We have a couple of games that he is usually willing to play (123-go race) and he said " no play. " we had a group of asd kids together at the park and he LOVES hide and seek but had no interest. If it was the pretzels, not the enzyme then how long to return--or should I just bag the enzymes and see what happens? Dh has never really thought this diet stuff was " working " but since there is a regression there is obviously SOMETHING happening. just not sure what....is this typical? Also- WHY? Dh asked... " if the enzymes turn the peptides into amino acids then why the break in period? " I didn't have a good answer even for myself. Thanks amy
