Guest guest
I recently took my son to see a DAN! Dr. for the first time. One of the new things we are trying is a zinc cream. I believe it is 100 mg. of zinc in an application, and we apply it once a day in the morning. I'm wondering if anyone else has used a zinc cream? There was so much info to digest after the appointment that I really don't remember what the purpose of the zinc cream is. Seems like such a high amount, compared to the 20mg. liquid I had been giving at bedtime. Also, what kind of effects might we see. I really think his behavior has gotten worse since we started--more emotional, agitated, just seems uncomfortable in his own skin. I don't know much about zinc, but I can't imagine that it would be the problem. However, it's the only new thing we have started this week. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, Kim
Guest guest
We use Kirkman's Zinc Cream and it says that each scoop contains 100 mg of zinc sulfate and 22 mg of zinc. Could this be the case with your zinc cream? Many children have a high copper to zinc ratio and need extra zinc. Zinc is also important to use during chelation because it is one of the minerals that can be depleted. > I recently took my son to see a DAN! Dr. for the first time. Guest guest
I just bought the zinc cream because my son won't take the zinc liquid. I called Kirkman Labs and confirmed that the equivilant of his 1 tsp of liquid zinc in cream form is 1/5 of the scooper. I'm about to start using it this week. I have found with each new supplement that by starting slow with a tiny amount and working up to the full amount within a few weeks helps minimize negative affects. budsmom > I recently took my son to see a DAN!
