Guest guest
, Happy New year!! You are going in the right direction. The specialist you will see, after looking at the X-rays, and making sure no more test are needed {due to inconclusive results} will probably give you a prescription. You do not need to rely on your pediatrician, and Cranial Tech doesn't write prescriptions. So you are off to a wonderful start!! Guest guest
Hi, everyone! I'm new to this and quite nervous about writing, so bear with me, and be prepared to hear me ramble due to my head spinning with so many questions. Like some of you, I'm sure, I have been getting the run around from our pediatricians about diagnosing one of my twin daughters,Sophie, with plagiocephaly. She is 6 months old now and 6 months later we are finally getting somewhere. Since our first well baby visit, I have expressed my concerns about Sophie's ever flattening head, and just last week we managed to get our ped. to order x-rays. Have yet to know the results, but my question now is how to we persuade our ped. to prescribe the band or helmet? There is no doubt, in my opinion, that she needs to be banded, and will find a means to get it. January 26th we have an appt. with a specialist in our area whose name I found on the Cranial Tech. website. Now I'm worried that I am going in the wrong direction. So I ask, what is the next step after having x-rays? Specialist, Cranial Tech.,or ped.? I'm so confused and, personally, do not hold great faith in our ped. Thanks for listening. In case you haven't noticed, I'm writing this on New Years Eve. Not too obsessed with the shape of my daughters head, huh?
