Guest guest
Does anyone know if there is any problem taking Caprylic acid and NoFenol together? As they are both antifungal I assume not, but just wanted to check. I know NoFenol can increase the effectiveness of Candex, for instance. Is that true with Caprylic acid also? No fenol should help bust up the outer shells of the yeasts so that the caprylic acid can work better at finishing off the yeast and the no fenol will help with getting the yeast out of the body. From what I have read no-fenol should help the caprylic acid work better - but email Dr. Devin Houston at Houston Neutriceuticals (he's a nice guy) he will return your email in a day or 2 usually and has good advice. He told me to use the no-fenol with the Nystatin my son is on and I should see the circles under his eyes go away ( he was right). I am interested in using caprylic acid so let me know what you find out. There is a good book (if you don't already have it) Enzymes for Autism... Can't think of the author right now. No-Fenol will typically make any anti-fungal work better, because No-Fenol breaks down the yeast cell wall, allowing the anti-fungal to have better access to kill the yeast. Guest guest
I'm interested in what you find out also. My daughter takes both and I've always wondered about that. For what it's worth, her yeast situation has gotten much better but it's still there microscopically. Guest guest
My daughter is 3 years old and weighs approx. 32 lbs. My doctor has me taking 1 capsule of Caprylic acid in the morning and 1 in the evening. The brand she likes best is Solaray and they sell it at Whole Foods. She has been doing it now for, say, a couple of months? Two? And her yeast is almost gone....just a teeny bit left. The only other thing I would say is that it's very bitter so I was told to empty the capsule into some type of oil and give it to her that way. I never tried it that way....mixed it into ice cream instead and she loves it. It doesn't seem to work with sorbet...I t hink it's too strong and she reacted to it. The ice cream I use is the Vanilla " Rice Dream " with the Ahlaska Chocolate sauce. Both GF/CF and you can get them at Whole Foods also. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I've been fighting yeast for the last 4 years, on and off, mostly with naturals, but I did manage to get a 3 mo. prescription for Nystatin. I'm doing an anti-viral protocol, with stirs up yeast, so we've been using Caprylic acid for about 2 mos. This is our first usage of the caprylic and it seems to be working well, although I should be dosing it a bit more. Its hard to get the anti-virals, probiotics, enzymes, and anti-fungals spaced properly across the day. Guest guest
We have found that there are better ones than others....most caprylic doesn't enter the intestines and is absorbed before it can do the job...which I guess is ok...if it is needed there..but right now we need it to do another job... so we buy Mycopryl by T.E. Neesby from Amazon.com....seems to have the best prices I have found and it is enteric coated so it goes where we need it to. There are a couple strengths but we use the 680 as our kiddos are pretty big. just my two cents. Ronni > > > > Does anyone know if there is any problem taking Caprylic acid and > > NoFenol together? Guest guest
Trish, You have to base your yeast treatment on your child's symptoms. As you become more experienced you will know what behaviors are caused by yeast. It is good to rotate yeast treatments, as the body can get used to the same one and it becomes less effective. I don't know how long to tell you to use a certain treatment for. I had my son on GSE on and off for over a year, he needed it. I also like Candex and Oil of Oregano (OOO) for my son. I've been doing Caprylic acid for over a month and will probably go another month and the switch to something else. I give any yeast treatment with No Fenol, and make sure there is good probiotic support also. You need to not only destroy the bad pathogens, but make sure the gut is producing good flora, too. One week on, one week off or is there some other schedule that should be followed?
Guest guest
We do use pros with caprylic acid that we use. I do know that the caprylic we use is very coconuty and have heard that it can come from coconuts....but as to whether or not it would get to the right places in the gut...I don't know... That's why we use the caps that are made to release in the intestines. The coconut oil sure does lots of good things doesn't it! :-) > > Do you use a probiotic with the caprylic?
