Guest guest
The best price I have seen is iherb.com. I buy a lot of my supplements here including Nordic Naturals. Everything is discounted and if it is over $40.00 then shipping is free. Try here for information: http://www.enzymedica.com/protease_enzyme.php hth Kathleen sabels_4 <nmsabel@...> wrote: Where can you purchase this? Guest guest
Here is some information I've collected...and some personal experiences with ViraStop. It's been very effective in its area. http://www.enzymestuff.com/conditionviruses.htm http://www.enzymestuff.com/discussionserratiopeptidase.htm . > > sabels_4 <nmsabel@> wrote: > > Where can you purchase this? I don't really know an upper limit for Virastop, altho I gave 20-something per day for one of my kids. He was older than 5 tho. Once he is stabilized on the current dose, you can try increasing it to 1 capsules 2x per day, see if you notice anything. I increased the Virastop every time my son went a few days without noticeable improvement. Watch for yeast overgrowth, viral " die off " tends to cause yeast. As viruses are being eliminated, the child can get sick for a day or two, then better. This was a pattern with my son also, along with a " die off rash " and a few other symptoms. > What's a good dose for an 8yr old boy? I am giving one cap twice a > day. This seems reasonable for now. Guest guest
--- Last night he was crying and screaming and grabbing his ears. Despite what I wanted to do, fearing something awful, I took him to the ER last night and they found no source of infection or anything. I described his pain as a 10 of 10 but they sent us home telling us that the Eustacian tubes in his ears were hurting him and give him tylenol! Glad they spent 12-16 yrs in school for that smart advice! I'm assuming its a die-off reaction. He is ok today and gave no virastop since yesterday. Could I possibly up the AFP enzyme because it says Virastop has 150,000 protease and I think I saw AFP has 50,000? Or should I try something else? April. Guest guest
All, I want to try the virastop with my 6 year old daughter who has mild autism/mild pdd. Can you recommend how many capsules I should start out with? I called Enzymedica and they said 2 a day? What do you all think? Should I give vitamin c as well? How much? Your input is very much appreciated. Ginger Alabama
Guest guest
2 is good to start with. Give one in the morning time and if she is fine during the day, give one in the evening/bedtime. See how that goes. If she needs a bit 'off' then either stay at 2 capsules for a couple days until the 'off'-ness goes away, or reduce to 1 capsule only. If she is totally fine with those 2 capsules, then go ahead and increase the dose by 1 or 2 capsules a day. The vitamin C is optional and can't hurt if this is something she takes without problem. If she appears to be very sensitive to the Virastop, the vitamin C appears to be able to calm those reactions and help a person process the gunk out. I will have to defer to others who have used the vitamin C with the Virastop and see what they found works best. . > I want to try the virastop with my 6 year old daughter who has mild > autism/mild pdd. Guest guest
Sheresa, Why do I need a yeast protocol? Is this with the Virastop or with enzymes in general. What do you suggest for yeasy? Probiotics? Thanks for your input! Ginger
Guest guest
Ginger You may want to start with just one capsule for the first day and see how she reacts to it. Some kids do well starting with 1-2 capsules per day, but others are very very sensitive to it. If she does okay with it you could give 2 the second day and work up from there. My daughter was extremely sensitive and we ended up starting with just sprinkles and working it up more slowly. Definitely give plenty of vitamin C (3-4 times daily) and make sure you have a good yeast protocol on hand. Good luck! I would start with 1-2 capsules per day. >>Should I give vitamin > c as well? How much? For my son, viruses [even cold viruses] went straight into his brain until I corrected his vitamin C deficiency, so I think the vitamin C is very important. I started my kids with 1000mg per day and worked up from there. Dana
Guest guest
Ginger For some kids, viral " die-off " causes yeast so if your child has lots of internal viruses then she may need a yeast protocol along with the VS. It really depends on your child so just be on the lookout for possible signs of yeast overgrowth while taking VS. This would not be the case with digestive enzymes in general. I would start by just using probiotics and maybe a yeast digesting enzyme like Candex, Candidase, or No-Fenol. If these don't do the trick you could go to something stronger like GSE, OoO, or something like that. For my 5 yr old daughter, she requires Candidase and GSE to keep the yeast under control with VS. But your child may not be as prone to yeast as we are here. Sheresa > > Sheresa, > > Why do I need a yeast protocol? Is this with the Virastop or with enzymes in > general. Guest guest
I have my husband on Virastop and he had a huge reaction to one pill. Now he is taking 1 in the am and 1 in the pm. He feels so much better and with the enzymes and the virastop he has stopped reacting to certain foods. I would like to know how to tell that the upper limit has been reached as well. I haven't started my kids on this one yet. But we will be taking the anti-yeast as well as the virastop. How do you handle the taste of the GSE? I have the drops and I can barely stand them. I will tolerate stuff no-one, I mean no-one I know, else will, and I can't stand this. How do I make it palatable for my kids? Guest guest
One and he is having such a reaction. I am going to try to get my husband to give it a try. We do not take GSE for the same reason. We are taking Olive leaf Extract(capsules) For yeast, my son is presently on diflucan, and he takes SAC B, and culterelle. Louise I have my husband on Virastop and he had a huge reaction to one pill.
