Guest guest
I have been searching and googling for the last couple of hours trying to find a site where I could ask about parenting an overweight child. You see, in addition to my son, age 3, I have a " NT " daughter age 8. Dd is obsessed with food, never seems to know when she is full/hungry (it seems she thinks feeling " not full " is the same as being hungry), is very picky but overeats, always wants junkfood, etc. I'm just so frustrated because dh & I are fairly healthy eaters (rarely eat refined sugar, eat fruits, veges, home cooked meals, etc.) Dd will overeat if given the opportunity & then spends the night throwing up (as happened today at her aunt's house, all's it takes is too much junk food & her system overloads). Despite my continuous hearty encouragement for her to make " healthy choices " she has continued to gain weight. I'm tired of the struggle with no results. Talk here of yeast issues, etc. have made me wonder what could be underlying my dd's food problem/weight gain. Can anyone point me towards some help? I imagine this could be partly related to food intollerances? We had testing done a year or so ago at the naturopath & had a lot of foods come up. We eliminated them & when reintroduced one at a time I still couldn't tell if she was reacting to any of them. Maybe enzymes could help her? I did get her to try & eat a ZP tonight (she didn't like the AFP) since I'm trying them on ds too. Anyways, must go to bed now (12:25am PST)- thanks for listening. Blessings, , mom to Nate, age 3, and dd, age
