Guest guest
Hello, I can't believe how much I've learned about plagiocephaly in the last three days. This egroup really has a wealth of information, and from what I've read so far, great support as well. I'm sure I will have many questions as we get into this process, so I thank you in advance. I found this weirdly amusing so I thought I'd mention it. As we discovered more about my son Drew's condition, certain things started to seem REALLY familiar. My mom telling me that she always slept me on my back, how I could never seem to find sunglasses that fit my face (they always looked tilted on my face and hurt my ears), my hair stylist telling me once " you have a great shaped head except for this flat spot over here...I don't think we should go with the boy cut " ... Well, I got my husband to check out my head and guess what? One ear is slightly in front of the other, and I'm pretty sure I've got a flat spot. I've never really cared for the shape of my head, but I always thought it was just hereditary. Fortunately, I have a lot of hair. And fortunately, I haven't experienced too many other negatives aside from never finding a good pair of sunglasses and having to wear contact lenses. I don't think I've suffered too bad intellectually (although many would disagree). So, do I wish they had bands/helmets when I was a baby? Yah, I think I do. Happy New Year!
