Guest guest
Hey there - Sorry. This is long. Nigel just finished a fever. I love/hate fevers as he is always so much less ASD w/them (and the day after). Then right on schedule, two days later he returns to normal. Didn't want it to stop, so finally started Virastop that same day (right before the fever effect stopped). Oh, cough and stuffy nose started at the end of the fever (which is normal). For months now, he's been on capsule OLE (Inno-Vite - canadian brand), two capsules at 250mg with meals (give with meals). First two days Virastop... managed to get in two capsules twice a day (a 3 hour window in the afternoon where I starve him and late at night, after he's asleep). Still very much his old self. Third day (the last 24 hours), upped it to 3 Virastops at a time with 2 Candexes. Managed to get this into him three times... added a first thing in the morning dose (woke him up early). He gets viral rashes every day of his life, so I can't use these as an indicator. Today, he is unbearably tired... can barely sit up... fell asleep on the bean bag chair right after dinner. Note: I'm sure he has unaddressed mitochondrial issues (and he has been at gymnastic morning camp for the past two days, Yes, I tourture my son. Oh, yeah, 2.5 hours of VB/ABA this afternoon). Cough not any better. His very familiar asd signs, same. Problem... yeast/bacteria is an entrenched problem (yellow, undigested, snake-like, frothy stools). Diet history: GFCF, then GFCFSFSF, then SCD (yellow stools returned on stage 2-3, never got to raw anything), LOD, now GFCFSFSF again (don't have the will to return to SCD). Note, he's been on pep/zyme/no fenol for two years now. He gets loads of probiotics (currently vsl#3 and Kirkman super Pro-Bio, but these are obviously not colonizing... ). Questions - 1) When to get probiotics in (enzymes with his meals)... Currently giving probiotics right after breakfast and before bed - about an hour after dinner is finished. Is this okay? 2) Saccharomyces Boulardii (good yeast)... when to give/should I even bother? Never took Candex before as Candex eats yeast, also figured that I never have the chance for an empty stomach. Now that I am desperate to find empty stomach times (for Virastop), so enough time for Candex. Before, I was giving SB at bedtime. Would I just be throwing money out the window (continuing SB), given that Candex will be given a few hours later and a few hours before hand? 3) Should I keep pushing more Virastop until I think he's improving? Should I just hold here (3 Virastops w/2 Candexes three times a day)? How many days at whatever dose before I push up the dose? How far up do people push the dose (how many caps)? 4) Should OLE be given at meals or should I give it with the Virastop? 5) Are the OLE capsules okay (12% Oleuropein)? 6) Should I even bother at all with this protocal as he obviously has a yeast/bacteria infected inflammed gut? Again, my appologies for this being so long, Sally

How many days at whatever dose before I push up the dose? I would wait there for a week or so. Try adding in a lot of vitamin C and some vitamin A. >>How > far up do people push the dose (how many caps)? The most I ever gave my son was 3000mg OLE and 30 VS capsules per day. > 4) Should OLE be given at meals or should I give it with the Virastop? I gave it with VS. > 5) Are the OLE capsules okay (12% Oleuropein)? Should be fine. I used capsules. > 6) Should I even bother at all with this protocal as he obviously has > a yeast/bacteria infected inflammed gut? You can keep going, but if there are viruses coming out, the yeast will probably increase quite a bit. Dana
