Guest guest
I'd like to get some feedback to my situation if someone can do that: My son is started with a new doc who prescribed Paxil 10mg. I gave it to him for two days then got scared out of my mind and haven't given it to him since. I have given him 5htp and didn't have much of an effect at 50mg. once per day. I wonder would GABA possibly help him? Would I need to continue the 5htp and GABA to see a difference? When we were at the doc she wanted him to try the Paxil or Zoloft. He has really bad handwriting which is improving, he has autism but the doc says he appears as high functioning. He does a lot of memorizing and reciting things he hears on tv and radio. Especially game shows. Perhaps this is " scripting " ? I'm not sure what to do. He definitely has GI issues, sleep issues, he reads above average for 7yr old but is also a little over weight but is also taller than average. We are trying to implement GF/CF but gluten is everywhere. Any suggestions? April. --------------------------------- Want to be your own boss? Learn how on Small Business. Guest guest
Hi April, Read back on all the replies I got to my questions with this subject title (as seen above on " subject " line) and the one regarding GABA & 5-HTP. I think those messages will answer your questions (my messages started a few days ago, I think about 4 or 5 days ago, so just keep going back until you see the original). Also, you might have a better affect if you give the 5-HTP twice a day (try 25 mg or 33mg morning and night). In addition, it would be helpful to give it along with Magnesium. The 5-HTP I'm now giving from Vitamin Research Products (www.vrp.com)contains magnesium in the capsule (will save us from purchasing a separate magnesium bottle). They offer: 33mg, 50mg, and 100mg capsules. We are currently trying the 33mg once a day and might go up to 2 or 3 capsules throughout the day in the future if needed to see what we see. Best wishes, Gretchen > > I'd like to get some feedback to my situation if someone can do that: > > My son is started with a new doc who prescribed Paxil 10mg.
