I was talking to my son's doctor the other day and was asking her

about some of the problems I was having with my stomach. She wanted

to do a lot of tests on me but we don't have any Ins. that would

cover the tests and we are still paying big time on my son, so I

told her I couldn't do them right now. So she did a " guess " on what

could be going on and how she would treat me. So these are my

symptoms.......

Gain weight VERY easy, stomach has a hard time digesting and things

to move down. It seems when I eat that everything stays very high up

in my stomach. It is not heartburn or anything like reflux, it's

just that it takes a long time for my food to empty down. After I

eat you can see my upper stomach under my breast bloat up, it looks

lumpy I guess you could say. It's very easy to tell because I'm

small and flat stomach any other time. If I eat any food that has a

lot of protein or high in fat then it really bloats up to where it

is hard to breathe in, but not like a full feeling but more like my

upper chest is tight.

99% of the time all I eat is fruits and veggies, I try and stay away

from bread and a lot of carbs. I don't eat starchy veggies or high

sugar fruits, and infact I don't eat a lot. Most days I go all day

without eating and will only eat supper and then a night snack. I do

not get hungry during the day. Not eating does not bother me because

I actually feel better when I don't eat.

The doctor put me on Jarro-Dophilus EPS

HCL-Plus (take during meals)

Pancreatin 4:1 325 mg (equivalent to 1300mgs of Pancreatine)

I take 3 after a meal

My question is should I be taking Enzymes like from Houston instead

of the Pancreatin? What is the pros and cons of each?

Is the Jarro-Dophilus a good brand?

What do you think about the HCL?

I just want ot make sure we are spending our money in the right

places and not wasting it on things that really may not help.

I know when I had a Barium swallow done years ago and I had to drink

that stuff and was in A LOT of pain because it was not emptying out

from high up in my stomach and the tech commented on how it

shouldn't take it that long to empty out and not just sit there. I

thought I was going to explode!!! What could cause something like

that and is there an enzyme to help?

I think if I had any intolerances, it would be to dairy, sugar,

wheat or most grains, and I have a hard time digesting fats.

Any suggestions? Sorry this was so long :)

Thank you!!!!

Enzymes can help with this. For dairy and wheat, try HNI AFP Peptizyde.

First, try a high-lipase enzyme like Lypo from Enzymedica. HNI Zyme

Prime has some lipase, so you can try that also.

For my kids, they did not digest fats until I corrected mitochondrial

issues and amino acid issues. I wrote about it here

http://www.danasview.net/mar05.htm

But if Lypo works for you, that is easier and not as expensive as the

mito things my kids required.
