Guest guest
I've been searching the archives (trying to avoid asking questions that have already been asked). I came across a message (#98629) in which you said " the best options for autism at the moment are: Lacto plus GlutenEase (Enzymedica products) Vital-zyme Complete (Klaire labs) HN-zyme prime and Peptizyde (Houston products) Carb Digestâ„¢ with Isogest (a Kirkman product) plus GlutenEase or Peptizyde " Is there an easy way to know which enzymes are best for each child, short of trying each one? (I'm willing to try each, but if there's a cheat sheet for the order in which to try them, I'd love to know! ;-) Here (briefly) is our situation: Our son, 7.5, adopted from India three years ago, has mercury and lead issues. He reacts to gluten, casein and phenols. We've been gfcf for a year, and he'd better (few/no meltdowns, less self-stimming, less hyper, happier, no more bed wetting), but we're beginning to have diet compliance issues at school and I'd like to see if we can find a way to allow him to eat a more normal diet. Our first DAN! recommended the Kirkman enzymes with bromain and papain, but my son became hyper beyond belief. We switched to Houston Enzymes w/o bromain/papain last spring (ZP, Peptizyde and No-Fenol) and he handled those well (no obvious side effects), but they didn't seem to mitigate infractions. They *did* seem to end his bedwetting, though, so we continued them. We've just used up the last of them. Before I buy more HNI enzymes, I'd like to try another product to see if we can find a combination of enzymes that will allow a normal diet (if possible) or, failing that, a less-restricted diet. Can you suggest which products to try? I was thinking about using a combo of Digest Gold (b/c it has higher levels of many of the enzymes than the HNI product) and No-Fenol for phenol issues, but I realized that Digest Gold has no DDP-IV. What about combining Digest Gold, GlutenEase and No-Fenol? Or, is there a better combination? Thanks for any help you can provide,
