Hi!!

Prader Willis syndrom is a chromosonal issue that is generally found at

birth nowadays. Most PW kids are infants who fail to thrive and many needed GI

tubes as babies for noursihment/survival. If your child had prader willis

syndrome, not only would she be obsessed with food but she would be almost

maniacle about it i.e taking food from the garbage , floor, off others plates

etc and she would NOT be able to stop eating. These kids can literally eat

themselves to death. They have a high rate of morbid obesity and need to be on

a

VERY strict lo cal diet. It is said that even with help , they will always

need supervision when it comes to food intake. There are also other physical

issues/characteristics involved as well. They tend to have behavior/mood

issues partly because they always feel like they are starving...I know my kids

get very testy when hungry for a short period so imagine it as a constant

thing...

I know this because my daughter went to school with a girl who was born with

Prader willis syndrome for about 4 yrs and the parents of this child made a

point to call a meeting an educate us all when her daughter started in my

daughters LLD class.

Hope that helps !!
