Re: Voluntary Triaminic Recall

I just did a little surfing to see what was up with Triaminic since

this is something I have used for years...I especially LOVE the

orange one (when I am sick of course, don't get the wrong idea and

think I am a closet cough syrup chugger!! :o)

But anyway I found this site in my travels:

http://www.wegmans.com/kitchen/storage/newrecall.asp

and low and behold there are a bunch of medicines that are on the

voluntary recall list because of the possible containment of

phenylpropanolamine (PPA)

Some of the products on this list are :Tavist-D, Robitussin CF,

Dimetapp, Contact 12 hour capsules, Comtrex, and Alka-Selzer Plus.

I vaguely remember PPA being in the news some months back, but silly

me I thought the FDA was taking the products off the shelf...if you

are interested in more reading about PPA you can take a look here

http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/ppa/default.htm at what the FDA

had on it's site. I didn't find a list of products through the FDA,

so if anyone finds one I would be interested.

Sincerely,

Jaya Dong
