He's lethargic and in pain. A little history... his stool sample showed bacillus cereus for which we gave him vancomycin. Also started nystatin along with it in case of yeast. Also happened to start Brainchild minerals that day and vitamins four days later. After six days of terribly loose stools, took him off everything. Went back on the vanc/nystatin until he finished it. Then started the minerals again. Diarrhea started again, along with night-waking (he was always a great sleeper) because of pain. He'd go back to sleep after he had a bowel movement. Two nights like this. He hasn't wanted to work with his therapists all week, very clingy to me and I think very much in pain. Do I call the DAN! doctor, his pediatrician (who has never heard of DAN) or take him to Childrens Hospital???? I'm kinda scared about all this now... what have I done to my son?!?! Please help. Thanks,

Thanks, --you may want to think about what fruits and veg are in the vitamins and minersls--My children get diarea from most of the supplements. And I would call the DAN dr.--because the things the hospital gives the kids to help have preservatives in them I would use the DAN Dr. first and if this DAN Dr. doesn't understand that some kids have problems with certain supplements I would get a new DAN Dr. Laurie--God bless and hope this resolves quickly for you. After barely looking at his bum, they said he doesn't have a rectal tear (that's what the DAN DR assumed on the phone) and they are testing him for c. diff and rotavirus (among other things). HI there-My heart goes out to your frustration. I have been there many times--I would recommend looking at the F. A. U. S. and seeing if you could replace some of his foods with other foods to see if it would help. For instance exchange apples for pears-and things like that. You can email me directly if you Need more info or we can chat on this board if you don't mind them being long posts. F. A. U. S. stands for Fiengold Association of the U.S. It is now a user friendly program with lots of human beings to talk to to help with the starting up. the second thing I will share with you and it is not everyone's cup of tea is that I use many DR.s but the ONLY ONE that truly works from a " do no harm " stand point is my homeopath. I use a CLASSICAL homeopath in Virginia named Dr. Chase and she is truly gifted. I put my son on ritalin-7 mg a day-(much to my distress!!!!) and he was suffering from side effects--cracked lips-a rash-loss of appetite and more and I took him to her specifically to deal with the side effects of the drug and she helped him greatly in one visit-(He has been seeing her for 7 years so she is familiar with his case and that is why one visit was so much help). If you can add a classical homeopath to your repertoire of Drs. It may be a big help. A minimum of 6 visits is needed to know if it is or isn't going to help in your case. I am not recommending stopping ANY of your current Drs. Just adding a classical homeopath to the group. hope this helps you or someone else if it is not your cup of tea. Guest guest
I would like to know what you eat for breakfast when you're on antibiotics and trying to avoid a yeast infection. Advice appreciated. Judy

Advice appreciated. Judy For breakfast I blend a no sugar added, whey vanilla protein shake, sometimes I add natural peanut, really filling & delicious. Or, occasionally, I have eggs. I love oatmeal and Malt O meal, but I get yeast problems when I eat this stuff, too many carbs. Additionally, I take probiotics, morning noon and night. I found the brand Jarro makes a great formula probiotic. Good Luck!
